Thanks! Hope it was helpful! There’s probably a million ways to do this that I haven’t thought of but it’s worth it to put the time in because you’ll only have to do it once.

Just whipped one up tonight my design is completely different to your design. But it’s pretty simple just peace of aluminium that the GoPro mounts too, with foam backing then zip tied through chin vents. The foam helps keep the zip ties tight, stops the aluminium from damaging the helmet and stops vibrations. I am getting an actual mount but it hasn’t arrived yet and I’m riding tomorrow so wanted see what it’ll look like

Thanks for that detail ! Agree on the clip/strap ones, awful. I went with a proshot v1 that i heat gunned and was fine for many years and recently broke in a crash, the v2 seems less well made. At this point I’m considering a diy solution and have some 1/16” aluminum just need a vice. Back n forth on the Velcro vs double sided tape.

We actually make and sell 3D printed mounts now. Check ‘em out if you’re in the market. They’re helmet specific and they’re made out of a hard rubber so they won’t break.

i am surprised this video doesn't have more views. Really helpful. I was worried that I wont be able to attach camera to my Scorpion EXO R-420 helmet. But now i can just make a custom mount. Genius. Great Video!

Thanks! Glad it was helpful! This project actually inspired us to develop a line of action cam chin mounts for dirtbike helmets that are 3D printed and helmet specific. They’re about to go live on Amazon in the next month. That doesn’t really help you since the R420 is a street bike helmet but I definitely know your struggle. There is definitely a need for helmet specific chin mounts for both dirt and street bikes. This one that I made worked great though. I’d still be running it if we hadn’t started developing them as a product.

That’s a lot of work for a chinmount, I recently bought the TUYU chinmount and it’s excellent!

Yeah, there are couple options out there. We tried those strap on mounts for a while but didn't have much luck with them. They don't fit some of our helmets and never held quite right. We are actually selling specially designed chin mounts that specifically fit each helmet model. Check them out of you're interested. Shop.wannabes.life
