That looks so good. I gotta do this. I dunno about the yum yum sauce though. Got a big hug of it here. Good suff, but it's more suited to dipping IMO. It's between honey mustard and chik-fil-a sauce from what my pallet registers. just my opinion.

Food looks amazing. My rice came out mushy the last time I tried this. everything else was good. Small bit of criticism, level your griddle and all that liquid in the back left corner will flow straight into the grease catch on the back. Works great when it's level. Thanks
@waltwins
@waltwins 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! The leveling issue is something we address regularly in videos. Where we film it is a large slanted (cracked) patio - when we really need a leveled cook, we adjust it, including with washers on the pegs, cut for most of these cooks where the oil is less for flavor and more to help with the cooking/sticking, we don’t worry as much. Take care and thank you again Fam!🔥🔥

It is just me and my GF here and I was concerned that 36" was too big for 2 people. Not so. I have used every inch of it every time I cook, especially when cooking fried rice dishes. How much ginger and garlic did you use? I also saw a sneak of the sesame oil on the shrimp but not the other proteins?
@waltwins
@waltwins 8 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! While we used ginger here, for our hibachi, we typically only use garlic. Ginger was about 3 tsp worth, and garlic is about 4 cloves minced (to taste/preference). Overall we use the sesame oil very sparingly, about 2-3 tsp worth. Hope this helps fam!

you guys are great, so I mean all this nice as possible, I assume you're in a state that doesn't have a lot of Asian cuisine or you guys just don't cook it a lot or at all, which is fine lol and for the average person this is beyond great. I don't eat healthy but that was a lot of oil specially sesame oil, I feel too much oil makes it soggy and precutting the meat makes it release a lot of water, which dry's out the meat and it more steams the meat then cooks it, so you don't get that nice browning on the meat. Cook whole then when mostly cooked cut into pieces. Also adding your sauce to flat top then mixing in, instead of right onto the food helps evaporate some of the water in the sauce and slightly starts to caramelize the sauce giving a deeper depth of flavor. also maybe try a compound butter with garlic, soy sauce, msg. and just add that towards the end to the rice and meats and veg. it just makes it easier to add 1 thing then 4 separate things. These are just things I've discovered through trial and error. take them or leave them lol

What kind of oil do yall use? Also what is accent seasoning?
@waltwins
@waltwins Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! We typically use vegetable oil for this. Accent is MSG, very common in Asian dishes. It took a bad wrap in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, but most claims about it were debunked - like most foods, some will have allergies, but otherwise we love it!

Yummy. Who told you about the ginger and garlic? I think this is one of my favorites. Like the big pan to put everything in.

Love the vid and content. One request is that you might think of making this without the MSG. Spices are cheap - add more.

Thank you for the feedback - we’ve posted about MSG, including the debunked health risks. That said, there are some with allergies who for sure should not use MSG products. Cheers!
