**Fun fact** In the anime "Naruto", the main character, Naruto, is actually named after the hero from a book written by his godfather. He didn't know what to call the main character in his Ninja story, and inspiration hit him when he was eating a bowl of ramen with naruto fishcakes on top. He almost ordered his ramen with menma bamboo shoots, and in one episode he says that the character could have been called Menma if he'd ordered that ramen instead. In a few episodes where Naruto somehow ends up in an alternate reality, he discovers that in that universe the version of him is actually called Menma. Either way, naruto and menma are tasty ramen toppings! 😋 Love the video...and can't wait to try this recipe out! Keep up the good work! 😁

I've been subscribed and watching for a good few years now. At some point, Satoshi became more prominent in the videos, and I really like that. When I first started watching, it seemed Shinichi was always in front of the camera, with Satoshi behind it, and Satoshi wasn't seen very much. For the past year or so, however, Satoshi has been in front of the camera more and more, and I love it!

Oh I know! I'm recovering from surgery this week so my sleeping patterns are off too due to pain and having to sleep almost upright, which is impossible for me. So to discover fantastic cooking videos at 1am is...not good. I'd LOOOOVE a bowl of Satoshi's ramen right NOW. The channel Refika's Kitchen is my latest discovery-- go and find her Menemen video and just drool, LOL :D. I love Aaron & Claire, Future Neighbour and Maangchi-- by far the best of the Korean cooking channels. Oh and Germany-- such a beautiful, fascinating country. I wonder if the Krampus nightwalk-scare fests will be on this year in Germany and Austria, y'know with Covid interfering with everything? Have a great day! Bye! :)

@@nemoex I just wish people were more selfless and thoughtful: around here it's all 'me me me'. I'm a very observant person and work in a job which allows such consistent observation so I can confidently tell you that most people in the UK are thicker, more selfish and more dirty than you imagine-- but full of sanctimonious dribble. Sad but true. My neighbourhood looks like a rubbish tip, it's disgusting, especially upsetting because I normally holiday in Japan so I have that always in my mind as a comparison. How to make people less lazy and more conscientious, is the key question. :( I too hope that you make the best of 2020 and can really spread your wings and thrive in a better 2021. Hope you have a great day. xo

Another wonderful food at home video - I really enjoyed this :) I have to have the egg too - unless I'm making "eggy noodles" (Eggy noodles is a comfort dish for me on cold morning's when I feel rough; cook cheap instant chicken ramen noodles in a smaller pan, with less water than instructions, whip up a couple of eggs, when noodles are mostly cooked, add a large knob of butter, then stir in the eggs, stir constantly until you have a creamy almost carbonara-like sauce, serve in a warmed bowl with fine chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, hot oil, thin sliced hot peppers, or any other toppings. Gently rendered lardons are a nice option

If you can order or buy at your local Asian market Dashi powder at minimum- totally worth it and I use in many items to add a touch of umami to anything- even wonderful in my eggs with a bit of mirin and soy. A little jar of powder is 4.35 & will last a long time from the ole Amazonian

Actually for people who can't get negi you should sub out green onions or scallions, just get the BIGGEST ones you can find. Our leeks do not have a similar flavor profile to negi and will make it taste funny if you use leeks. It will over power the other ramen ingredients. Also if you can't get ramen noodles you can use spaghetti just put a tablespoon of baking soda to the cooking water and then when they are at the consistency you like rinse them under cold water. They will be bouncy and chewy like ramen noodles.
