The Sour family might be my favorite family of cocktails. It's so diverse but incredibly reliable. I don't always use egg white though it's become very common place. Great job. You've got yourself a blue streak David! 🥃

The one sour I don't like egg with is the New York Sour... I find the texture clashes with the wine.

We got the blue for the free coctail bar at play festival, a local circus skills festival. It was given away over the bar, that was the theme. Grenadine was the main mixer by the volunteers but that was too sweet by the second run. So went behind and found sour cranberry to cut. De kuyper is a decent blue. This looks great

Looks great! I’m glad you added bourbon! When I saw the title I thought it would be straight blue curaçao ...which wouldn’t tastes like much! Great drink David. Looks fantastic. I enjoy bright looking drinks and sours so this should be a great option for me. You are taking kind of a risk grabing just random bottle after eating the egg yolk. I guess should be smart never to leave your bitters that hign. hahaha Cheers!

Awesome stuff David. Not sure if you can find this in Canada, but if you can, look for Butterfly Pea. I'd give you the scientific name for it, but I'm sure your channel if PG, hence, didnt want to risk anything. It's a flower, that when tossed into a bottle of clear liquor (gin and vodka are the safe favourites), changes their colour. Quite a common ingredient in a Malaysian dish from a state called Kelantan. Try it out if you're able to. Regards from Malaysia.

More like a Blue Cura-sour, amirite? Ahem. Sorry about that. I love Woodford Reserve. I have a bottle of the Double Oaked currently, and got to stop by the distillery once while travelling through Kentucky. I don't have any blue (or clear) Curacao, but I may try this with Cointreau.
@boozeontherocks4 жыл бұрын
That was Funny. I like puns. Try it with the Cointreau and let me know how it turns out. It won';t be blue/ Try only adding .75 o/22.5 ml of the Cointreau.

@@boozeontherocks At present I'm experimenting with pairing Drambuie and Cointreau, because Drambuie and orange really pair together nicely. And since St Andrew's Day is coming up, I was thinking of swapping out the Cointreau for blue curacao to bring in the colour of the Saltire. Still very much a work in progress though. I'm using the Old Fashioned ratio as a basic formula, gin or vodka as a base spirit with orange bitters. If anyone wants to improve this, I'm open for suggestions since I'm not a mixologist just an enthusiast.
