How to make the cap smaller and the sides shorter on a wig

I’m so glad I found this video! Most average size caps are too big for my petite 21” head with the ear tabs coming down too far over my ears. I’ve got 2 brand new Belletress wigs that need altering. I’ve thought about cutting the ear tabs off but am afraid the sides wont stay down by my ears. Your thoughts? Do you have a video that shows you how to trim the ear tabs or remove them completely? Thanks for your help beautiful! 😊

Exactly what i need. Every wig... Lace fronts.. doesn't matter. Over ears and it hurts. I mean hair covers it but u feel silly and its hard enough to wear wigs outside and feel confident. Thats work in itself just to get thrown off by less then an inch. And its easy even for someone who doesn't really sew.

Hi! I have the same question. The way you show to overlap it would leave a flap (the 1 inch or so) on the outside, at the hairline. Can you clarify, did you see that part down as well? Thank you!

The thought of cutting my wig IS terrifying, but what you looks do-able! I need to take it a step further and lift around the ear to accommodate a large behind the ear cochlear implant processor. Any advice?

That sounds difficult, but I guess you'd just shorten the sides more behind the ear tab? Or did you consider a topper before? I guess there are different kinds of toppers that cover more or less of one's head. Maybe that would be easier than altering a wig?
