I have the same problem with my wigs, I have a small football shaped head, I am going to cut my tabs off on my least favorite wig and see how it turns out. Thank you for putting this kind of info on how to customize your wigs. I am definately going to try this on my new human hair wig. Its the only wig that had ear tabs that fit tight against my hearing aid tubes and glasses making it very uncomfortable after a while. Wondering about ear tabs that are made of silicone and If they can be trimmed. This video is exactly what I’m looking for although the construction of the wig is different and called a “comfort cap” so it’s like a silicone material I’m scared to cut it lol. My piece is final sale anyway but she’s a gorgeous hand tied human hair and I don’t want to ruin her. My bio hair does match underneath but I’ve never owned a wig and mine sits over my ears exactly like yours.

Hmm. That’s tricky. I’ve never cut the silicone ones. I would start by tucking them under and see how it looks. Watch to see how much you need to remove and mark that area. If all the silicone is removed likely you’ll will be ok. If not you might wanna sew in a fabric or something to cover that area after you cut it off. Mostly for comfort and stability.

Will this work for a wig that is too large? I bought 2 wigs on eBay and they are both great! One fits perfect (avg) but the other one is too big (large). I can still wear it, I’ll just use extra clips and pins. I must have weird shaped ears too because I have a problem with ear tabs on all wigs - I end up tucking the ear tab behind my ear since I like to tuck some hair behind my ear. Not very comfortable. Both wigs are short, too.

I have an "older" wig in which the adjustable ear tabs are so stretched out that I have to keep adjusting the wig during the day. I also wear glasses. If I cut off the adjustable ear tabs, how will I be able to keep my wig from slipping down on my forehead? I am not able to make the wig smaller. (My wig is already a petite size.)

I apply got2b glued styling glue along my hair line and blow dry it on low until it's tacky and then apply the wig where I want it to sit, then I use a tie or scarf to tie around my head somewhat tightly to secure and set. It's so much better than having to worry about it slipping, I've tried almosy everything, wig clips to wig bands and Bobby pins and caps... I won't use wig tape or adhesive because I'm really trying to avoid such intense toxic chemicals, and this is not a clean product either but it's not as toxic as those. I leave a little bit of hair out on my sideburns to blend in with the sides. If you wanna really secure your wig,you can also get the hairspray of the same brand, then your wig will be so secure you can do backflips or what have you and not worry 😊

I got a lace front one other day and there are metal tabs..never had them in any lace front wigs before...no need for them on lace fronts..been wondering what to do..it cuts into my ears.Great vid 👌👌👌

Do you have a video on how to adjust an ear to ear lace wig where the lace falls in the right in perfect place before the ear, but the rest of the wig sits halfway over the ear? I need to cut out ear shaped parts but the adjustable strap is right in those spots! I don’t want to loose the lace in front of my ears.

I have a wig that is a similar style. The ear tabs are placed correctly, they are in front of my ears. But when I am wearing the wig, you can still see some of my hair that's in front of my ear. Is there a way to solve this?

Personally, I routinely shave those hairs. I keep my Androgenic head pretty closely shaved so it’s not a big deal for me, but that’s an individual choice and dependent on your hair situation.
