I have been having such a blast with your previous cathedral window spider bookmark! Have been working on making homecoming bookmarks for all of my grandchildrens teachers. Ordered the last set of galacia bobbins you had yesterday and now today I just got this pattern! Thank you so much for the wonderful pattern designs and I can't wait for a full tutorial on this pattern.

Would you mind sharing the style of the bobbins you are using? Maybe even the manufacturer and size of thread. Is it cotton or linen. This would be wonderful to follow along with and purchase the pattern, but a way to source the “tools” would be fantastic. Thanks!

Hi! I use boxwood Galician bobbins. I sell them in my Etsy shop too. 😊 I am restocking on Monday (September 4, 2023) if you’re interested. In this video I’m using Spanish linen thread that I purchase at the castle down the road from my home, and I don’t know the exact weight / size. (I sell thread kits on Etsy too. 😊) But I use lots of different weights of threads for these patterns because different threads give different effects! I like to experiment & play around with thread weights & colors and encourage everyone to give it a try. 🤗

@@GaliciaBee AWESOME!! Thank you for the reply. I will be shopping your Etsy store on Monday!! I didn’t see any thread kits in your store. Maybe those are being restocked on Monday as well. I really like those bobbins. 😄

I have a bunch of thread kits available. 😊 But I will be adding thread kits for this Mille Arachne pattern as well this coming week. 🥳

@@GaliciaBee I did find the thread kits. I also just purchase all three of your PDF patterns. Can’t wait to order the bobbins. Thank you for offering these items and the videos to learn. I’ve been searching for the tool sets but not really finding any of my liking. If you are able to offer the nicer quality tool sets in your Etsy shop that would be very nice!! I’m really glad I found your KZbin channel.

@@BobGarrett66 I’m so glad you found my channel too! 😊 If you didn’t already know, I’m live on TikTok quite often. My regular time is 1:30 pm Central. I make lace & answer questions. 👍

So, if I'm understanding right, the work up to 8:00 is just setting up a selvage for the coloured theeads to anchor to. The passive threads being the ones that run down through the selvage and the working pair being the one that runs back and forth atttaching the new coloured threads. I've never really done selvages in crochet (only done a handful of amigurumi figures). This looks interesting. I'd love to try some time.

Thank you for such a great tutorial! I am just learning how to make bobin lace and your instructions are so much better than others I've been trying to learn from. The different colored threads are very helpful. May I ask if the pricking you are using is available for purchase?

I'm a beginner having great difficulty following the written directions to your pattern. They don't contain all the directions in your video, which I have to keep rewatching. It is confusing without numbering at least the beginning pins, to differentiate between the inside & outside rows:-)

Hi there! Sorry to hear you're having trouble following along. 😢 This pattern is the 2nd in a skill-building series of bookmarks. Did you try the first bookmark before this one to build the skills necessary to complete bookmark 2? Is there a specific part that you're having trouble with so I can point you toward a tutorial that will help?
@megmc9644 Жыл бұрын
First, I did slow your video to 75%, which does help:-) I've watched the spider tutorial. I also re-wrote the beginning directions to make it easier for me to folow. Place 4 dark colored bobbins on 2 top side pins-maybe all top 3. WP = Working Pairs, mark with pinter tape after started. Top Left side of pattern: Work left WP out CTC, through 2 passive pairs on left, to outside pinhole. Twist WP once & place pin. Work WP back right through passives, CTC, & place next pin, in inside row. Add NEW PAIR to the pin, .. Twist new & twist WP. Join them with CTCT. Work WP back left through passives CTC & place outside pin. Work WP right, place inside pin, & add NEXT spider leg. Repeat until you’ve added 5 +original 6=11 Top right side: Work Right WP to the Right in CTC through the 2 passive pairs to the right, to OUTSIDE pinhole. Twist WP once & place outside pin. *Work WP back Left through passives to the left, in CTC & place Inside pin. Leave left pair. Add NEW Pair to the pin, right of WP. Twist new once & WP once. Join with CTCT. Leave left pair. WP back Right, through 2 pairs of passives, CTC & place OUTSIDE pin. *Repeat from *, adding pairs to both sides of the right side, until the rest of the pairs are added. WP back Left, CTC, place pin INSIDE, leave left pair, & add next spider leg right of WP. Twist? CTCT?@@GaliciaBee

@@megmc9644 Thank you! 🙂 Here in Spain, patterns rarely come with any instructions at all. I will keep learning and make better instructions in the future.

I just noticed the Transcript, which may help a lot. Since I'm just learning how to read a pattern, this is probably beyond what a beginner should try, but now I'm determined! I do like the pattern! Thanks!@@GaliciaBee
