Hands down one of my fave fragrance channels along with scentland and Ramsey and Kristo. So nice to see such passion instead of a bloke sitting in his basement reading notes off Fragrantica.😂

It might be good to emphasize that for the addition of patchouli for a chocolate note/accord, it's best to use a dark patchouli as opposed to clearwood. :)
@sammacer
@sammacer Жыл бұрын
I used light patchouli so that may have affected the result. I don't think clearwood really counts as patchouli though ;)

Ahh yes, the dark aged patchouli is lovely.

To begin with, your work, content & journey are amazing. Thank you! So I get up and combine Vanillin with a palo santo tincture of mine (for the guaiacol…honestly its the same). I used (synth) civet and orris root concrete 10%, I also had a tincture of very dark roast coffee beans. At this point it was nice but still a little sweet. I added more coffee tincture and it got nice and dark but a bit too dry and woody (palo santo and coffee can be bitter/astringent) so I added methyl laitone to round it all off. I see how the civet makes this ganache, a dark ganache due to the bitter coffee. The orris just holds everything together in a buttery base and it dries down to a caramelly vanilla milkiness. I didn’t measure anything, I rarely every do, it’s just a feeling and trial and error. But i should have gone easier on the vanillin and methyl laitone. I happened to spray it on the same arm i had tested my jasmine fig enfleurage. The combination is insane, something like a chocolate honeysuckle. Happy mistakes.

Isobutavan for the 'milk' chocolate. Chocovan is great base too, leans more towards a chocolate syrup than cocoa.

I am a chocolate fiend so this one made me happy 😊 I love making chocolate pralines, shiny and colorful. I was thinking about adopting perfumery as my second hobby but I don't have much money lately and so I had to give that up for a while. But one day I will get back to it and this accord will probably be among the first I will try 😉

i love the traces you added, you can get a chocolate vibe by just adding Cocoa Hexenal, vanillin and lactone, but in order to be complex those nuances are required :) thanks

Thank you, Sam. I have been enjoying your videos and have learnt a lot. Pure vanilla absolute has a very milk chocolatey scent to me, without the need to add anything else, even diluted to 10%.

Thanks for this Sam! 🍫 I often find gourmands to be so much nicer and less cloying when iris is added. I'm slowly starting to get into powdery fragrances too.

Really love this channel. Im no parfumer myself, i dont even own that many fragrances, but I find this whole thing very interesting. One of my all time favorite smells is the one you can find in an ice hockey hall/arenas. And no, Im not talking about sweat hah, its like an icy fresh smell. I tried to find information on it, but I couldnt find anything worthwhile. I dont know if youre familiar with what im talking about, or how would one even go about recreating the scent, or how much does it have to do with the cold temperature inside the halls, but I'd love to find out if there are any fragrances that have at least some trace of that scent. I've only found that Vortex by Darling Clandestine supposedly does have a scent that can be described as cold air, and a few others that have these cold, even snow like properties to them. Maybe thats something to keep in the bag, i'd really enjoy a video on a fresh, cold, trace of gasoline type smell, and how to achieve that, I find it epsecially interesting since it doesnt really remind of mint or menthol, which is the first thing i would normally associate with a crisp, cool scent

I achieved a good smelling dry chocolateish accord with 100% alkaline cocoa powder and 100% dark bitter cocoa powder tincture(half each). 1 month tincturing than filter anda season the cocoa alcohol with vanilin, less vanilin = dark 80% chocolate, more vanilin, more 50% choc. With just small e.vanilin, I can get close to milky chocolate... For us, small beginners, these is easy to find, easy to do, cheap... not perfect chocolate, but convincing...

I use I.P.A. for my honey accord. For me it leans way more in the floral honey direction then chocolate.

@pietronicolafurlan6248 Жыл бұрын
@@sammacer yes, of course, but it is an extremely volatile top note. I was looking to construct some sort of accord that could transfer at least until the heart of the fragrance. BTW Rum ether may help to adjust the opening for sure.

I hope to have some kind of perfumery solution for android in the future, however it will not be the same as Formulair and unlikely out in true next year so I would get an iPad if you want it now (iPad is also the best Formulair user experience imo) :)

So I tried with what I had on hand and I have nothing that smells like chocolate or cocoa. BUT I managed to make something that sorta makes me think of Raffaellos. Vanillin, Orris butter, Aldehyde C18 and a trace of Civet.

I think the Pachouli would be more along the lines of that baker's chocolate aroma. Too much, and it breaks that fourth wall, so to speak.

Hello, I wonder if you can advise if I should buy the 100 aroma chemicals kit by Pell Wall, it's just over £400. I am completely new to making perfume, although I already have many essential oils because I use some for face cream I make for family and friends and diffusers. I realise I need these chemical aromas also. Do you think it covers the main ingredients needed? I would appreciate if you can give me your advice. I really enjoy your videos although I didn't realise there is so much to learn and will take a time to understand fully. Kind regards, Nicola
