I did what you said and added a os glow plug and now the truck is a complete different it starts right up and the tune is pretty good
@TraxxasGemini3.3 Жыл бұрын
Os 11k carb (or losi 3.4 carb if u can find one.. tunes much better and more power.. direct drop in) Os 21tm header tuned pipe (plastic muffler is a joke trash it! The resonator is ok but better are out there.. ths racing, novarossi, and ercm are really nice) forward only conversion ( fairly easy to swap in... makes it stronger, simpler, and rev faster if u wanna lose reverse) Os LC3 (Hot) or Os LC4 (medium or cold) plugs are great Run a good 30% nitro in 8-12% oil content (over 12 holds too much heat in and makes tuning harder than it needs to be.. 30% nitro 10% oil is a good blend with 30% nitro 8% best u can get.. higher nitro content u run it richer, and u get even more power from it!).. VP, Bones Brew (that was THE BEST!), Sidewinder, and Morgan are good fuels (Byron's back in the day oh man was in a league of its own of awesomeness!) Engine swaps (os 21tm is best but takes longest to break in and its expensive.. dynamite .19t lil more than a 3.3 on warranty cost wise but lil less down low than a 3.3 yet more top end than a 3.3 and it's overall better made just needs a more durable backplate and starter swap then it's golden! And a modded 2.5r is another awesome engine! 3.3 are hard on rods splitting em, pistons can shatter I have one that did.. 2.5r is better built to handle itself but with mods it'll really shine in its own.. also quick mod for a 2.5/2.5r pull stock 2.5 crank out for a 3.3 crank it's a direct swap it'll wake up your 2.5 engine).. Chassis parts.. rpm parts always a good choice (bulkheads, arms, braces... it's all bolt n nut together be patient with it and have tools.. it's very solid and it'll make any t maxx a mini savage!).. check me on fb (Erin Kavanaugh) I've my rc on there and I can help you out with advice!

So to summarize. Use good fuel, get a good cooling head and get a glow plug and igniter
@Troubledboy882 ай бұрын
The EZ start can light the glow plug up just as hot as an igniter. The problem is, there is a few places where it can get corrosion, or old fuel around the contact point can be problematic for the connection. Btw we both live in Idaho

OS plugs, yes. Different glow igniter, not needed with the OS plug. Less oil, no. The traxxas motors love extra oil. Also your idle is super high

Good video. But I disagree on ditching the EZ Start glow plug wire. I have a Revo 3.3 and don’t have any problems with it. Other than my starter motor burning out. I even upgraded my starter wand to use a 2S lipo battery

I'm running a Spektrum system in my fleet. Dx5c radio and a variety of different receivers. I've never had any interference with that system. If you want a budget system, I'd recommend the Dumbo Rc Radio system. The transmitter is affordable, the receivers are cheap, and they are famous for having excellent range.

Can I use this long plug with a stock head?
@arturos.l.22482 ай бұрын
Hey the reason youre blowing so many Glow plugs is because you ran VP fuel without richening the fuel mixture. The traxxas top fuel has much more oil than the VP. In the long run, youll foul out way more traxxas glowplugs with that type of fuel, and the OS ones will foul too, but they'll last longer. Your engine appears to be running a little lean btw. Avoid tuning the carburetor a lot. Try not to make large adjustments where you have to unscrew and rescrew the needles, the carb is very fragile and gets damaged easily by this. Its better to leave these traxxas carburetors Alone for the most part and use traxxas fuel, and leave the idle reasonably high to compensate for the rich fuel mixture going in. Since youve already run it this way for a while i recommend just seeing how long it lasts, then buying a New, non traxxas engine with a base tune carb

I think that you ment the head would fit the 2.5 and 2.5r. If its for a 2.5 it wouldn't fit the 3.3
@randomworld75 Жыл бұрын
I think you meant the glow plug is an LC3, not "ic3". You can also use the OS LC4 glow plugs. It's more of a medium heat range.

Modify your ez start to accept a lipo, no need for a seperate ignitor. Traxxas fuel is garbage and you replaced the cooling tower, not the head. Idle is too high and I never heard it hit 2nd gear, that is adjustable too.
@motorbreathjz8 ай бұрын
he replaced the cooling head. theres no such thing as a cooling tower.. there isnt any modification needed to use a lipo battery in the wand.. you just plug the dam battery in the wand..
