Does it work on Japanese Knot Weed? I'm thinking of cutting off the stem and pouring the mix down into the roots.
@setapartfarmandgardensАй бұрын
Good question. Those are tough weeds. I feel like you’d have to spray multiple times until the roots get exhausted

What quantity of the items will be use in a bigger sprayer

@@JohnAgim-kn6jt it’ll be the same ratio. If it’s a 2 gallon sprayer then you would double the recipe and so on

How bad is the vinegar smell? If at all and how long did it take the vinegar smell to go away? Thank you.
@setapartfarmandgardens4 ай бұрын
The vinegar smell isn't too bad. I'd say it probably lasts about 4-6 hours in my area. Not bad though. Honestly, the smell of the dawn is stronger which I'm actually not a fan of the smell of dawn. That lingers a little longer. But usually the next day it doesn't smell like anything

I've heard to do this without salt, do you think that would be okay to use carefully in the garden?
@setapartfarmandgardens6 ай бұрын
I’ll be using it in my garden. It’s mainly if you use a lot of it and it builds up the salt in the soil right next to your plantings. Like literally 2inches or so away from where your veggies are planted. But a few times I would think wouldnt hurt. Its mainly if you do it very often and theres a lot of salt buildup. Another option would be to use 30% concentration vinegar by itself. That usually works really well
@amck722 ай бұрын
If you are using the 30% vinegar container, you don`t need salt because that level of vinegar has a high level of acid that will burn the weeds down.

We have weeds in our beds. Can we spot spray near plants we want to keep alive? (If it’s nice and dry and sun is out?)
@setapartfarmandgardens4 ай бұрын
I spray right up to edge of my flower beds, and so far my flowers/plants haven't died or been bothered. Not sure if the buildup of salt with bother them over time, but so far so good. Hope that helps!

Just curious if you tried just vinegar, or just salt water etc
@setapartfarmandgardens3 ай бұрын
Great question! I have tried just vinegar and it didn't work, however if you buy 30% or 45% concentration vinegar it works great! The only con to that is that vinegar at that concentration is about $18-$25 per gallon so it's more costly. I was actually wondering if just water and soap and salt would work and no vinegar. That I haven't tried yet, but I'm curious. Thanks for asking!

Can you use within grassy areas?
@setapartfarmandgardens6 ай бұрын
If you plan on re-seeding and you’re just spot killing weeds in the grass, yes! If you’re planning on just killing the weeds in the grass and not the grass, then no. This will kill both the grass and the weeds
@Vic-pk6qn3 ай бұрын
This solution is only temporary as the same weeds will eventually come back as it doesn’t kill the roots.
@setapartfarmandgardens2 ай бұрын
@@Vic-pk6qn for the smaller weeds, one application works well for me. If the weeds are larger I’ve noticed i do need to spray another time if not even 3 times if they’re really large. That’s what has worked for me, but i know everyone is different

@@isabelshelton1932 you can use a spray bottle. It’ll take a while but would work. You can find a pump sprayer for less than $10ish if you want to buy one at some point
