I just finished this build this weekend. Great design and measurements. The backrest will fit perfectly snug between the assembled seat/leg assembly but needs a little persuasion. I added a cup holder to mine. I also had to add shims between the backrest and armrests because when I tightened the reinforcing screws the legs racked a bit. You could pre-paint the pieces before assembly for easier painting but keep in mind you will need to touch up. The only modification I would make would be to widen the seat/backrest maybe an inch more, mainly because my girlfriend has a big arse. Also note if your plan is to make these the centerpiece of your deck/patio, keep in mind it's construction grade lumber you are looking at here; imperfections are evident and the norm when spending about $23 in materials. Thanks so much for posting the video and get that double one going!

It never even crossed my mind to make a double version. I made a couple sets of these (using pocket screws) last summer for my house and I gave away a set to a friend. They turned out to be more comfortable than the store bought chairs we had purchased when we moved into this house. I originally sized them up a little to fit some cushions that I loved but I found I like the chairs without the cushions so much better. Keep up the great videos.
