I love your tutorial but I really wish you would show how to start and end the lei.

I have these two videos 'how to get started...' and 'how to end' the flower ribbon lei. The video is not for the specific lei, but just for general flower ribbon lei. Maybe these videos will help you. Thank you for watching. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qamllYOVm61sb7s kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4KqimqFpsuHjc0

This caught my attention tonight. It's like an action movie watching you stitch the flowers. Mesmerizing! Question:. Is it best to measure inch marks on the ribbon or is it not crucial to be exact? That was interesting to see you put the end of the ribbon into the eye of the needle. I'm not sure I got how you sew the ends together. Really a great project. Do you find when you are used to doing these styles it becomes a relaxing exercise? It seems like your fingers just know exactly what to do. Thanks for sharing all of these beautiful leis!

Sorry Bobbie for late reply. For making this flower, we don't have to measure exactly, just about 1 inch is ok, we don't have to be exact. Even real flower petals are not the same, right? 😀 At the end, when you already make the flower, sew the flower from the body of the flower, not just the tail. Because if you sew just the tail, I'm afraid the flower will loose. I hope you understand what I mean. I hope this helps. Just let me know if you have questions. Have a wonderful weekend!! Love from me😘🌼🌷

This is a beautiful lei! Do you think this would work in a haku lei for a graduation cap using the technique you show in your haku lei video? I've also made your cigar and plumeria lei and both turned out great!

I'm glad you are able to make the leis. For graduation cap, it's better if you make 'flat lei', like 'Purple Yellow Pansy...', so it's easier to attach to the cap with safety pins. But, of course, you can make this lei works. The size of this lei will be nice, since it's not too big. Please try, and would you put a picture in Instagram and tag me #momslittlethings, so I can see. Thank you so much!

@@momslittlethings8910 Thank you! It turned out quite well - I used purple and lavendar colors and tried to make it lay flat. I ended up hot glueing it to a wider strip of ribbon so it would lay down nicely. Sorry I can't post a picture (no instagram!).

Can this work with a regular satin or silk ribbon?
@momslittlethings89102 жыл бұрын
For the flowers, it's easier if we use organza or sheer ribbon. Satin ribbon is too thick. I think silk ribbon is too expensive. My mom usually used silk ribbon for embroidery. For the leaves, satin ribbon is very nice. I hope this helps.
