Ive made potato bread and soda farls before, similar to what you have done, although I do the potato bread thinner, about half as thick as yours, and the soda bread about 2cm thick, and cook both in a dry pan with some flour sprinkled in the pan beforehand. Ive subscribed as I found some of your recipes interesting, thank you

Simple and you can change ingredients up just a smidgen for flavor and the type of flour used. Versatile!

I had found that saving the potato peelings to add with other ingredients to make a stock broth whether chicken, or beef or vegetable or other kind of meat added with spices & seasonings is good.

That is a great tip! Thank you for sharing :)

Hi they look nice but also look like there fried in the butter. I myself make soda bread and potato bread but cook them in a little flour in the pan. Have you ever tried that.

Hi! Oh yes definitely! Also a beautiful method to make 😍😍

Could I do this in a stand mixer or a food processor? I have arthritis in my hands wrists and fingers so kneading of any sort isn't possible, thank you Sinead

If you do it in short terms like.. I would need a helping tool, think if you don’t „over-mash“ it.. good luck 🍀 😊
@SineadDavies4 күн бұрын
Absolutely! Just don’t overdo it and you’ll keep the same texture 🥰

You think this would work with whole grain flower ? Or oatmeal flower ? Thanks !

It definitely would! I would think the flavour will be slightly more nutty but still quite delicious! 😃

😂 I feel like every recipe in old Ireland was created because someone said “ah, fek it, this’ll work.” Mashed potatoes, bread- I’ll just add them together

If I listen very carefully, I can hear my late Auntie spinning in her grave! FRYING Fadge??? Absolutely not! A dry pan/griddle, with a light shaking of plain flour which turns nut-brown, but doesn't burn. 4 mins on the first side, 3 mins on the second side. Four farls produce one 'cake'....Job's a good un...Frying uncooked Fadge? WRONG!
