Tip 1: Storytelling is King (focus on the story)
Tip 2: Planning (for the story and for the shots)
Tip 3: Record audio (using an external mic to capture foley)
Tip 4: Nail your shot list (variety is key)
Tip 5: Keep It Clean (cinematic shots aren't shaky, avoid panning the camera)
Tip 6: Micro storytelling (capture multiple shots from the same experience to breakdown the editing process)
Tip 7: Travel light (less gear the better, focus on enjoying the experience, and often the content will reflect)

Tip 5 - Keeping it clean. So many times I've taken footage thinking its gonna be so epic, but when reviewing the footage it's really shaky or the horizon is not level. Shooting with intent and a steady hand makes such a difference. Tip 7 - Travel Light. So true what you say about less is more. Its also easier to film and pull your camera out when your set up is small and compact without multiple bits and pieces. Tip 1 - Story telling. Probable the most valuable tip, but hardest to do for me. Help!! lol

Travel light... just got back from a trip where I had a backpack and carry-on filled with camera gear, lol. 2 cameras, a GoPro, a GoPro Max, drone, gimbal, various mounts, tripods, filters, batteries and chargers. I used it all. :)

Jake, love your channel! Trying to build family travel videos that captivate. I like the micro story ideas in the larger video. We recently took a week holiday to Stuttgart and visited zoo, park, porsche museum, and city bus tour, etc over 6 day period. Would you recommend breaking these up into individual day events or do you think a micro story of each day for the week is possible?
