This is a great help. Thanks. One particular shape that I have that I am making a stamp brush from always ends up narrower when pasted into brush shape than it was when I copied the white image from the canvas. Why should that be? I have tried it several times, with different canvas sizes. The brush always ends up with a narrow aspect ratio?

I worked around this issue by having a canvas size with a 1x1 ratio. Hope that helps!

I think the best way to do that is to adjust the brush size each time.

I have followed your method, when I have made sure everything is according to your method I still have problems when I make two trees that are stacked, there is still a difference in color (even though I have set the opacity to the end) how do I solve this? thanks

It maybe related to the pressure sensitivity setting. Hope that helps!

I’ve seen this problem b4 too! I think it has to do with the canvas size. Try switching your canvas. Hope that’s it. If not lmk and I’ll do more digging.

If the silhouette is looking rough, you can erase or add to it until u love it. Just do the edits on the same layer.

Hmm. I’d try the freehand selection tool again. Select everything that you want to remove, connect the selection and swipe down with three fingers. Cut and you should have the result you want. Also make sure there’s no layers turned on under it bc that would make it look like nothing happened. Hope this helps!

Hi I hope you see this but a faster way to take the background off is to click what you want you brush to be but click it with the add button on automatic and click save and load then save it there after that clear everything on that layer then go back to the area where the save and load button is then click the thing you saved before it and you took the background off a faster way

There’s a few different selection methods, so make sure you have the correct one. Most of the time, automatic is the best to use for single color background selections. If you need to trace use the freehand! Hope that helps

After you make the brush try tapping with your finger instead of the pencil. Sometimes that works better! Hope that helps.

Need help please. First couple times this worked great, now I dunno what I did. I click on the background and it turns black. Tree remains white and I have a blue background even with the background turned off. Arg!!!! Just when I was getting the hang of this!

Did you fully remove the background? When you click on it make sure to swipe down and cut or remove it! Hopefully that’s it!

You can also save the layer as an PNG and insert it that way. Maybe try that. Hope it helps.

Make sure they are on one layer and then apply a Gaussian blur! Just slide it to your preference :)

To remove the background of the pic you can also go to select→freeform→add→automatic so that add will be selected and then you can click on the tree instead of wasting time on selecting the parts outside the tree :) then you can cut the tree, clear the layer and paste it in. Ta-da.
