Hey Guys! In this video, we will show you how Brad's arms become the VR controllers and
how WalkinVR gives Brad the ability to play Beat Saber and Fruit Ninja in a way that works for him.
WalkinVR Driver is a software tool designed to make Virtual Reality Games and Applications more
accessible to those with physical limitations. It allows players to interact in the virtual world in a variety of adaptive ways and provides a set of features to assist players with disabilities in adapting VR games to their needs. The beta version of WalkinVR was released in 2017. Developer says the utilities excellent reception has encouraged him to keep working on it and developing more VR accessibility features to enable disabled gamers enjoy VR.

Beat Saber is a unique VR rhythm game where your goal is to slash the beats represented by small cubes as they are coming at you. Every beat indicates which saber you need to use and also the direction you need to match. All the music is composed to perfectly fit the handmade levels. Our goal is to make players almost dance while cutting the cubes and avoiding obstacles. Each cut is strongly supported by great sound and visual effects to emphasize the rhythm.

I am very happy that more users are able to play with these headsets. This got me thinking that they should make options in every app to make the controls use fewer button presses for people who have missing fingers. someone should also create hand grips/gloves with foam finger inserts to wrap around your hands that allows you to grip the controllers more easily if you have missing fingers.

This is so encouraging. My elderly mom is legally blind and has very limited mobility in her hands and body but she can see content with the Oculus Quest 2! It opened up a whole new world for her. She can't push the buttons or control the toggle so I tried to cast to the TV to help her. Pointing and clicking are so difficult this way. The method you described here seems so promising. How can I find out more? Does the desktop computer need certain specs? What kind of cameras would work (a basic webcam, a fb portal)? Do you need a Steam account for walkinVR? I'm a newbie when it comes to Steam and the VR system. Where can I get basic instructions for setting all of this up? Thank you for posting this video.

With the new PSVR 2 coming out soon, since they're adding eye tracking i belive possibly future VR headsets like the quest might have a similar feature. If that ever happens then it opens more possibilities for accessibility.

This technology, video, and information mean a lot to me and my family. Finally, my father would be able to play games again, he had a cerebral thrombosis and can only move and feel the left side of his body. With the "Motion range and boost" option he could move the right controller with the controller attached to his knee with a belt and a 3D printed flight stick system to avoid wabbling, the only problem left to fix would be an easy way to press the buttons of the right controller as he would have to release the buttons on the left controller and move his left hand to the right controller on his knee and press the buttons, won't be able to do both simultaneously. Still, this amazing technology will give him the chance to play many games that are slow-paced I guess. Thank you so much for this video and I hope more people discover this and enjoy a second chance to have fun or more interactive therapy. Greetings from Chile!

I wish that there was a way to get funding for this kind of software!! I have a loved one with CP and have had some luck strapping controllers to her upper arms and helping her move them and press the buttons for her to make selections but the WalkinVR mods look like they'd be a godsend. She uses a Tobii eye gaze device and I see that they are also working on incorporating eye gaze into other VR headsets...so excited to see where this tech goes in the next few years!! It's amazing.

You need a desktop computer, a VR headset and a compatible camera (in our case we are using the Kinect from Xbox but there are others you can use)

I have full use of both my arms, but for being the biggest and most purchased VR, it’s incredibly frustrating that beat saber hasn’t created one-handed versions of ALL their songs. there are enough people with reduced dexterity or straight up missing hands and arms that this should be the bare minimum. people shouldn’t have to mod their games to achieve this. it’s like…COME ON.

So what happens when someone isn't around to use another controller? This is awesome software. I am apart of a user side accessibility community who got the Quest 2 to help design the next generation or even the one after that And out of the box I am left as a manual wheelchair user way underwhelmed. Also the lenses are weird to look through and text gets mashed in areas that leave it unreadable. Text on images to the sides and even centering and enlarging it still leaves it unreadable and mashed. Pixelized.

Thanks to my LL, I managed to get my headset all together and working, BUT, with a caveat... I found myself wondering how you guys managed to dispense with dealing with hand controllers. The only way I can think of getting into the virtual world beyond a lot of externals, is to implant electrodes directly into the brain and hook up to an Artificial Super Intelligence.

This is awesome. My daughter had down syndrome and she loves the new meta quest 3 and she can do the games, but she can't read, so I have to navigate the menus for her. There should be a way to manipulate the cast from the headset so others can help that way through the metaquest app.
