ive found that cutting the handle off of a stone rake and using just the rake head is a better option to cool the heated product. it allows more air to circulate when spreading it out

Excellent video. Question. Could you also set the trap with regular dirt then add a layer of waxed dirt over the regular dirt. Basically try to extend the amount of waxed dirt, or is it best to start with treated dirt to completely cover the trap.

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I have looked in the F&T book and it doesn't show the bag of wax, sent an email almost 2 weeks ago and no response. With the snow, rain and cold now, I could have really used this wax dirt. Question, what is the best type of dirt to use, is that like a top soil mix. I have sand now , and also some bank run loam. thanks for sharing this video. I will definitely have this on hand next fall in the conditions I have here.

Did exactly 25 gallons using this method today. I have them waiting to go into a 55 gallon drum. How many days do I need to leave in the buckets without a lid before I transfer it to the drum ? I also tried the solar method , gas grill , and It was 87 degrees here today. It work beautiful , but the solar seems to take forever. But I really enjoy your video and it was very well edited. Quick question for you : I understand the process of making the wax dirt but if the ground is already frozen before you apply the wax dirt should we bed the trap in the dirt or put salt under the trap to prevent freezing. I'm from Fairbanks Alaska, but I'm Army stationed in El Paso Texas. It's so hard to get a trap solidly placed and even with a pan cover, keeping the sand from getting under the pan. You mentioned sand or dirt, but think sand in beach/desert style. I think this is the answer to my problems. Do you think this will still work for me here in this hellhole?
