Cool 👍 so we don't need to varnish between the withewash and the weathering ? I have to place a new order soon 😉 Regards from Switzerland

Thanks! You only need to varnish before the whitewash. Then when you are happy with the result simply hit it with hair drier and it will become very durable no need to protect before weathering.

Hello Chris, in my latest video...(coming now Friday November 24th, 2023)... I used the VMS Chip & Nick for my winter camouflage. But the product behaved differently than the one in your video. I've had the bottle for a while and think it's an outdated product or I kept the drying time too short (approx. 15 minutes). In any case, despite everything, I managed to get the pattern to be exactly as I imagined it. Take a look at the part in the video where I apply the winter camouflage (from 1:00:17) and tell me what went differently for you. Thank you and happy modeling. Max-Modellbau Werkstatt🙃🙃

I'd like to learn more about what exactly made the difference between the first and the second layer. Was it because it was the second application, or because it was sprayed lighter, that made the second layer chipped way finer. If the latter is the case, can I use this product above the layer chipped with ordinary method(using chipping fluid) and get the similar result?

Hello, it was the latter, initial application - an even, generous coat, second layer a finer coat not forming an even layer as sprayed sparingly. I believe you can mix the techniques, the result should be very interesting.

hi !!! thanx a lot for this video !! Can I ask you how to set the airbrush pression?
@Vmssupplies
@Vmssupplies 9 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot, the pressure needs to lower for the second part of the video when we spray the misty coat, I believe I used something under 20 PSI and pressed the trigger very gently so as to spray little paint, this is more imporatnt than the pressure. For the first full coat you can go 20-30 PSI.

waited 1 hour and when I run water over it and try to chip it, the paint doesn't flake off, but becomes rediluted and fades away. I put vms varnish as planned and waited 4 days before putting the chip nick, and I don't understand where the problem comes from?? ?

Hello, Most likely paint was not shaken well or was applied too thin. Please refer to comprehensive product FAQ for tips.Please view on a PC not mobile: www.vms-supplies.com/vms-chipping-paint

Hello, how long should you let the chip nick dry before starting chipping?? ? ?

Hello, You need to wait 10-15 minutes for the paint to become dry to touch. Chris

how you dilute dilute the white paint in the second layer ? can we mix this white paint and with which paint to modifing the warm or the cold of this white chipping paint ? thanks
@Vmssupplies
@Vmssupplies 10 ай бұрын
When we spray the second layer we don't dilute the paint, just spray a mist - spray with less intensity, you can either lower the airbrush pressure or simply squeeze the trigger very gently so that less paint is sprayed. You can mix the paints to alter colours. To filter the colour we used VMS Pigment Jockey Number 1, we show it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2icgHammN-XnJosi=7kJz_9Nr1pIY3kzQ&t=425

I also like to learn if we can and if so how to dilute chip and nick paints, we brush painters will need a thinner to make mist effect for this amazing process, I need to say chip and nick is a brilliant idea and thanks for these amazing smart modelling products!

Hello, The paint shouldn't be diluted. Instead on needs to employ a different technique. First coat - brush a generous even coat that is opaque. The brush a thin translucent coat - simply use little paint or even dry brush it. It's all doable. You can test on a dummy model or a painted and varnished piece of styrene to check how it turns out for you.
