I learn more from your videos and you never say a word than I have all the others I have looked at combined. You make this all so simple. The world needs more people like you who are not only willing to teach others but do it so naturally.

Yes. It is a space from upper-edge of the carbon felt to top piece. The carbon felt isolates liquid fuel tank and subchamber. Thus "dry hoop" will be produced.

Well, a large single CF version is less yellow/red flame, stronger jet and little bit long burn.

I'm not sure whether or not. But if kevlar is nonburnable and has water retention, it will work.

in post "Yet Another Open Jet Alcohol Stove PART-4 " at the end, there is written "When sub chamber becomes ZERO it (YAOJ) wil be the hoop stove" "subchamber" means space between 2 pieces of carbon felt in YAOJ ?

Thank you so much for the R&D your projects are awesome! Please help me, I am doing a project where I need an ultralight adjustable flame stove. The idea is to be able to switch it from maximum burn power to super-low economy mode with a simple actuator (like gently pulling on a string). I am looking for a 10+ minute long eco burn time punctuated by a few short bursts of maximum power. What should I do? Thanks, all the best!

Generally adjustable feature on pressurized alcohol stove is very difficult. Because pressure intensity, which determine flame size/power, is affected external elements such as reflected thermal by pot or windscreen. It is hard to get constant power. The easiest type is traditional chimney stove. You can find an example on FeatherFire stove from PackaFeather. Although I've never tested, put simmer ring and hide jet holes on the CHS-U, it will be possible...maybe.

One option is the Brasslite Turbo series of alcohol stoves. They have built-in simmer rings, allowing you to adjust them from full power down to a gentle simmmer. You can buy them easily from the Brasslite website. In my tests, they are heavier and less efficient than TETKoba's capillary hoop stoves, however. You can make simmer rings for capillary hoop stoves that slow them down. TETKoba has made a video on this since he commented on your question.

Hi Tetkoba-san, can a steel wool be used for the insert? That might work too.
