How to make your Android phone a webcam for FREE

This is appears to only work on newer Android 14 and later versions. One correction to this video is that the frame rate is 30 frames per second. I thought I saw 60fps, but verified on a second Windows device that it outputs as 1080p 30fps, 720p 30fps, and lower resolutions.

Worth mentioneing. On my Pixel, after starting the webcam USB mode I get a "webcam" notification. "Tap to view and configure webcam options" I cant find these settings anywhere accept in the notification. There I can select all 3 backfacing cameras 0.6 1 & 2.0 and also select the selfie camera. There is also a "HQ" option that gives a warning about power usage and then gives a higher quality image. I cant tell what this new better resolution is, but it sure makes a visible difference. The notification seems to appear after you have started using the camera, for instance opening photobooth on a mac will activate the notification on the pixel.

I have USB debug mode turned on as well this might be why I get this notification. But its not confirmed.

Thanks, I will check it. My Pixel Fold wasn't giving me those options. Maybe it is missing an update for me
