Just finished reading ‘Raising Warriors: Preparing Your Children For a Godly Life’ and it really opened my eyes to some new ways of guiding my kids in their faith. Highly recommend it if you’re looking to strenghten your family’s spiritual life

Sir..am feeling happy to say that i hve made my son independent, though my friends at times think am rude n they think I don't love my child jus coz I don't allow my son to depend on my for each n everything!!! but as u said sir, making a child independent is the first duty that nowadays parents must do for their own child's well-being...thank you for the video..stay blessed and happy.

Have you let your children do the followings on his/her own ? Be honest. 1. Choose career own his/her own. 2. Choose schools, colleges on his/her own. 3. Choose life partner on his/her own. 4. Find any options related to anthing on his/her own. 5. Let him/her deal with his/her own mistakes of life on his/her own. I would appreciate your answer.

I admire your talk about parenting and 99% are right about it. But I can’t agree with one thing. If my child, especially in a young age like 9-10 or even grown up, bullied from someone either at school or from teachers or anyone , I will always stand up for him! It’s nothing to learn in there for kids by ignoring the kid to figure it out alone or suffering alone with bullies! After all my experiences in my life, I have realised one thing: 99% of kids or grown ups are always survive any circumstances with or without Parents in their lives. So, I think that being supportive as a Parent by standing up against the bullies , is the best support I can give to my child while I am alive, especially in Kerala, India. Because unfortunately there are so many uncivilised people including teachers regardless of their job or positions, are communicating wrongly with children in Kerala . They are communicating with children in daily basis, without taking any consideration of their psychological status and most of their comments are seriously abusive towards children. For that reason, it’s very important that a child feels protected from Parents by standing against their bullies. When they see that their parents are standing with them against bullies, it will increase their confidence and will help to grow up them without any defensive mechanism. Because 99% of kids will grow up with a defensive character if no one stand up with them against bullies or nasty people in their childhood period . At the end of the day, each Parent should act for the best interest of their kids. It’s easy to say all these good parenting advices , but it’s very hard to follow it all the time. Then, I would say that let it as a flow of life and do your best until your last breath! Because their life will go on with or without our (Parent’s ) presence. So, I can’t be so perfect like you saying , but I will parenting from my good instinct really , and the rest leave it to God.

Thankyou for this excellent presentation. I still struggle with my lack of emotional resilience, and subsequent lack of responsibility, even in late middle age. I was raised by a dominant mother and a lovely but emotionally absent father. I didn’t ever truly connect with him. Our mother constantly told us “don’t do this, don’t do that”. She was obsessed by me coming into to contact with a paedophile. I’m not sure where, as I wasn’t allowed out anywhere on my own until I was in my mid teens! I was never allowed to spend time with my father doing things I was interested in, like attended a vintage car rally or motor museum. Instead, my mother always dictated the direction of family activities. Well intentioned, but misdirected parenting can leave lifetime scars which need constant self management. Very sad. More worryingly this female domination has left me with “an issue with women”. Whenever I have had a female manager it has inevitably resulted in very unpleasant conflict down the line.

.. Funny enough(edit: I don't mean funny haha, I mean "peculiar enough") .. My mom did her best as a single parent.. She gave me basic needs and I didn't have to do much.. So I ran away from home to learn independence. It was painful for both of us but we learned a lot.. And my parents got back together before she passed away because of my absence.

bababluelotus : I feel same. I can’t agree with him to ignore our kid I if somebody bullied at school in order to learn his mistakes!! When the kid bullied from child or when the teacher un necessarily hurt the child, I think, as a Parent, I should to stand up for him .

@@nicsilvestroni9221 he didn't said ignore the child , you support the child listen to the whole story , lovingly advise them if there was some mistake from their side , explain that people can be rude and mean sometimes , give them their boundries clearly and show complete support if someone tries to hurt them physically.

Mrinalni Mangore : wow! If my child is been attacked physically, that person will be in jail, I can assure you!!! If is a child attacked my son, his parents should take the responsibility by expressing a genuine apology, but it’s all depends on the severity of the attack!!
