I used to do something similar. I had a favorite song when I was young and I would play it in my head from start to finish in a constant loop. The song was about 5 minutes long. Class ends in half an hour. If I can do the song in my head 6 times, then I can get out of here. I was like 10 years old at the time and it worked. And I was jamming to the song all class long

I do something similar. When doing a lengthy task I just break it up, usually in pairs. Instead of saying ‘run 12 laps around a track’ say ‘I can just run 2’ then after the 2 are done I say ‘oh that was easy, I can run 2 more’ and so on and so forth

When I would feel sleepy I imagined as if class was getting over and I would get to be on my phone the rest of the day, that's how I felt fresh and could focus. I have a very innocent brain type so I kept doing that every 2 mins and it would/will get fooled 😛

What a personally do is dividing the time i've already spent doing an activity by the total time i have to spend doing that activity. Like: I've already been 15 minutes in class and the class last 1 hour, then i've already went through 1/4 of the class, and when it's 20 minutes, it'll have been 1/3 and so on. This way time appears to go faster because you're counting the portion of time instead of the absolute time.
