My pro way is just packing those boots inside my string back alongside with my socks in them. I dont use shin pads as its uneasy for me and just bring couple of bandages incase of an emergency

Don't pick boots based on position! Wear whatever YOU feel fits your feet and is comfortable. I speak from experience, of course. I wore Mercurials back in 2013/14 when I used to play down the wings, and they hurt like hell. Moral of the story: don't let your position dictate what boot you wear. Cheers!
