I tried this with my black Cleveland putter and it didn’t work. I even used paint remover and still nothing. Idk what else to do.

Hey dude! It won’t work on that putter because that putter has a different type of black finish. Think of it as a black satin chrome. It’s pretty permanent.

Josh Luther definitely just protect that ferrule! Don’t let it deep into the hosel and don’t let it hit the ferrule. It’ll eat it. Soften it. So be careful!

Ellian Ascencio dang! I don’t think it will. That satin is basically a way of saying “satin CHROME” and that’s a plated finish.

@@tylercollins6654 for what? To make them raw? Take them to a chrome shop and have them remove the chrome? That’s about it. Chrome has weight though so you’re gonna def mess up the weight if the head.

Man...unfortunately that one wouldn't work with this trick. Would need to actually get the chrome stripped! I don't have any at-home tricks for that one! Ha!

What do you do once you have the raw finish to get that copper rusty look? Just let it to that over time? If you do more to intentionally put the rust/patina on it, should you do paintfill before or after? thanks!

you can get a pair of pliers and a blow torch and hold it to the flame until it changes colors (brown copper look not guaranteed, sometimes it will turn blue). I did this to an old putter of mine and it turned out really cool. Otherwise it will just rust over time. always paint fill last.

@@williambardol3895 they did eventually. The dryer you keep them the longer they will take to rust. If they ever get too brown for you liking, you can put them back in the vinegar for some time and theyll return to rustless raw
