That looks really great. Thanks for sharing. I have an old Rocket Ballz driver that's really good but I never liked the white head. Gonna fix it up like this and get it back out this year to take some money from my friends...

Was looking to see what paint to use and you used the exact same ones I was about to get. Thanks
@MrSig-ye8hq5 жыл бұрын
Wet sand the edges where the paint built up with high grit paper, the same you would use on a headlight resto kit. Then clear coat 2 layers and do the same, wet sand lightly. Then use a sealing rubbing compound. Great job!

if its not baked it will chip. been refirbing my old clubs and drivers with K2 paint and baking at 60 degrees for 2 hours. paint is as hard as nails. and no chipping.

Nice job. I do two clear coats of minwax poly and pour it in while in a vice and use super fine steel wool between clear coats. Your matt finish coat came out very nice. Good job!!

Just curious how it held up now that it’s four years later? Of course you may be onto a new driver by now, but I assume you kept the driver for a year or two, mostly curious how it looked after five or six rounds of golf? Thanks.

Well done video and well done paint job. Its great to see young people restoring items instead of discarding them. You should make more videos.

It looks good. Just a FYI. That little T is not just a Taylor Made logo. It is in the exact spot of the center of the face so you can hit the golf ball in the center. When you looking down on the top of the club, you can't see the center of the face which is where you should be hitting the ball. The little T shows you where the face center is.

Hi. If you did again, would you have used gloss black instead of the matt?

How long did it last before it started chipping? Not being an ass. I did the same thing, same process on my r1 a few years back. 2 coats of black.. 3 clear. Clear started chipping off.

It's August 2019... can you please update us on how well the paint held up after many impacts with a ball? Thanks.
@golfheads14495 жыл бұрын
The paint holds up great! I have a few scuff marks on it because I let my girlfriend and a few friends hit it at the range and they were really getting under the ball a lot. As a result came the scuff marks but the paint has not chipped. I recommend putting a good two or three layers of clear coat and that should hold up fine.

Did the paint hold up, and clipping?
@golfheads14495 жыл бұрын
p38shocker the paint did hold up. The only way it will chip is if you tend to hit under the ball which would cause the ball to hit the paint and scratch or chip some off.

You didn't sand the original paint before you sprayed it. Your piant will start chipping within weeks. You should have went to a trade school. FYI, you never clear coat flat paint.
