Usually the scalp gets oily if you don't wash your hair for 2 days or hair will clump, it means your hair is oily. If you have dandruff or itchiness in scalp, roughness of hair texture, then your hair is dry. You can also keep a tissue paper on scalp after 2 days of washing hair to see if there is oil on the paper or not.
