She rocks. It took her a minute to get back in the grove of mousing and squirrel hunting but she is back on her game.

More to come! With Andrew on board we are going to be able to make some changes in that direction. After 10 plus years of the Saturday grind, I would like to be able to do things with my boys that are fun. Andrew will help me get there.

I used to hate cats until the ole lady got one and it eliminated my mice problem. I now have 5 cats and 2 of them have thumbs!! Yes, legit thumbs.

Small investment but much safer than a razor blade: Fiskar Rotary Cutter (in sewing notions at big box stores)

Normally I use my Fiskar scissors. BUt right now I am not exactly sure where they are. The move has...how shall I say it..."displaced" EVERYTHING. LOL

Any tips for sealing doors so that water doesn't run inside behind door panels and into the vehicle? 64' Fairlane owner here!
@RealWorldGarage
@RealWorldGarage 3 жыл бұрын
I can say probably not. They are designed for the water to pass through the door and out the bottom. You will need a good moisture barrier between the door panel and the door. I have made my own from heavy plastic from the hardware store then you can use body caulk to stick it to the door, and it will remain removable for future maintenance and repairs. Depending on the supply chain you maybe able to find some precut for your car.

I would use contractor bags to seal the door from the panel. Ford used paper that "seems" to have had a coating on it; or paper with a black paint on one side. Make sure the scuppers on the underside of the door are clear too.

I needed a cat in my garage last winter. The mice got into my Mustang and ate a hole in the headliner. I needed a court order to get the little squatters out.

Jeff, When working with contact cements, use a "separator" so you can lay the two materials over each other. Then remove the separators one at a time. There are many materials that work well; old venetian blind slats, strips of plastic sheeting, dowels, etc.
@AutoRestoMod
@AutoRestoMod 3 жыл бұрын
Yep. we did that.

Great video. Q. Does the contact cement attack the vinyl after a short period of time.? Thanks.
@AutoRestoMod
@AutoRestoMod 3 жыл бұрын
Not to my experience. I have had weatherstrip adhesive cause a "sucking effect" on vinyl headliners...I learned that I should brush it not use the tip of the tube. Use a brush instead.

Good video as always. Which contact cement do you use? I use DAP Landau Top and Trim adhesive and it has never let me down.

I use DAP contact cement. I find that the home improvement stuff works well in a pinch. But I do prefer landau glue.
