All these negative comments, she's not a designer who only does ikea diy like most designers on youtube. She's showing how to get a 15k couch for 2k and if you are in that point in life where you are settled down and in your 'grown up' house, saving up for a 2k couch is doable. She always goes into detail on materials and what to look for, feel free to go to your favorite store and hunt for similar pieces!

I'm not in the market for these things, but it always gives me a chuckle how you get so excited about all these different styles. It really shows how you are a great designer... being able to love a certain design element and make it work for your clients even if it isn't "your" particular style. I could never do that! I'd always be steering them in a direction of what I like and only making them frustrated... probably why I'm in the medical field and not a designer... lol! You are one talented lady! Dupes for the dupes, yes for sure! Hit up your consignment stores, Habitat for Humanity Restore, or even a thrift store. Sometimes I have found some amazing pieces that I can fix up or clean to get that Hundred dollar look, until I can afford that Million dollar look. Loved this Lisa!!!

I think the dupes you shared are great! I appreciate that many people are shopping on a Home Goods, TJ Maxx budget (I love to wander around Home Goods) but having her suggest items from those stores would be pretty useless as they are "here today, gone tomorrow" type places. The chances of us going to a Home Goods and buying the same thing she does are probably slim to nil. If budget doesn't allow for her dupes, she gave great information about the shape and form of those high end designer pieces and how the dupes she presented follow those lines. Use that info to help find something that does the same or similar thing within your price range. Keep up the fun information, Lisa!

My hubby and I just stumbled upon your channel recently. I can't tell you how much we both love it! You are authentic, enthusiastic and hilarious. I impressed by your credentials as well. I obtained my BA in ID early in the 80s and passed the NCIDQ a few years later. Only practiced commercial/office design before stopping. Wish I had a fraction of your talent! Please consider doing an in depth video about leather. Top grain vs full grain, aniline-dyed learher, Italian leather vs American leather. Most lay ppl don't know much about leather at all. Nienkanmper was my fav to spec when the budget allowed. Still have a baseball and bag I picked up at NeoCon back in the day.

I understand what you mean. often (not for many classic styles) one does find cheper dupes at Ikea. but unless you go with the rather pricier series 'stockholm', they look nice, but they don't look expensice. my small appartement is styled like that. and a lot of people like the look and give me credits for my tast.... but I know, it looks fine for what it is. nobody would say, I have achieved an expensive look :-) it doesn't work that way. somethings have to feel solid and quality items, even when you sit down and not only, when you look at it. ..still I totally get, what you mean!

I have antique furniture with updated upholstery and a beautiful two toned wood coffee table with a sheet of glass on top. This works for me, not too crazy about the modern smooth line of the 60's, grew up with that style in my parents' home.
