I have the manual and i had this option on, i always knew there was something about it and i loved it but could never figure it out but now I know. it's a huge difference on a manual car. Another one that boggles my mind is if you want to launch the car and pin the throttle in 1st gear it is also possible to activate the antilag while holding volume down and traction off. It's a huge difference a bit difficult to activate it every time though. I make my rev limiter at 4k and antilag and it launches like a rocket, it's amazing.

I have been using this feature on my 335Xi MT ever since MHD released it, and I must say that the difference in how the car feels is big. But I didnt know it were a ignition cut, I was just amazed in how much better response the car had post shifts. If I do a fast shift above about 6500 rpm the engine keeps boost and the car continues like a rocket in next gear. I am a little affraid how my x drivetrain likes it tho.

Yeah it even occurs on my m135i running around 400hp, but to a lesser extent. I checked my MHD logs from the other week and in lower gears 1st, 2nd and 3rd, I see a torque Lim 2048 kick in every so often in the rpm range of 6600 - 7000rpm. It seems really inconsistent on the exact RPM but the lower the gear on the 8HP, the lower the torque lim 2048 kicks in. In 4th gear it tends to not kick in until 6950rpm, any wheel spin and the value is also lower than the 6950rpm. Might give this a check the next time I flash the car. I've noticed the car sometimes bogs on 2nd to 3rd change even if I shift at 6500rpm, and the XHP stage 3 flash did reduce the bogging a fair bit but it's still there.

You can absolutely run it on a auto. However it will only effect how the car acts at the rev limiter. Common issue on the autos is post shift timing corrections. If you are having timing drops just after a shift, your tune will need tweaking.

Maybe someone with the full knowledge of the workings of this system can comment on the possibilities of hydro locking a cylinder. With DME just cutting the spark and not the fuel is there a possibility at that high of an RPM(red line)for the fuel to build up and hydro lock? Or is that what the "pop" through the exhaust is that you are hearing ? Just a thought
@ZeroTo60Tube3 жыл бұрын
It wont hydro lock, remember the air fuel ratios, hardly any fuel going in per compression cylce and then its straight out the exhaust port, whether the spark fires or not. It's how rev limiters used to work before direct injection.
@andreazzopardi73112 жыл бұрын
Are there any downsides to this? Increase in temps, or additional stress on the twins?

From your experience is the jb4 with bef faster than say a mhd v10 stage 2+? For a FBO car with stock turbos?

No, MHD stage 2+ v10 is more aggressive. More timing on the MHD maps. You could run around 20psi with the JB4 in the mid range and maybe have it feel a bit more punchy. But JB4 Map 7 and MHD Stage 2+ = MHD more aggressive. Keep in mind each car responds differently, but looking at the BEF and MHD on paper, MHD is more.
