Do you paint directly on the mdf or mount paper on it?

If you are using oil or acrylic you can gesso the mdf then paint directly onto that. If you are using watercolours then the watercolour paper is mounted on the box canvass. Dennis shows the process here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWm3dq2Im9enjdk
