How To: Make Your Own Bunting!

STEP BY STEP:
1. Cut the fabric (40cm from bottom edge)
2. Fold it in Half and smooth it out. Cut off any stray edges
3. Mark along the bottom (every 22cm) and mark along the top (every 11cm)
4. Cut between the markers to make V shapes and cut along the top to separate the shapes.
5. Sewing time! Sew down the two edges of each V shape
6. Turn it inside out and use scissors to push the point out
7. Iron each V shape
8. Take your length of cotton tape, fold it over the rough edge of each v shape and sew it all together!

I love this video! I'm now making my 7th lot of bunting for the birth of new babies in the family, and I always play this video through to refresh my emory. I also embellish the triangles before sewing them with appliqué names, date of birth and pictures, then hand sew buttons and other bits to personalise it. Than you for your super instructions!

In the UK with all the street parties the last year or so its had a massive revival everywhere is selling it, actually my friend had it at her wedding and it was really lovely - sort of coutnry/vintagey vibe .... she also had an old fashioned ice cream van arrive - that was epic.

Yes, I agree, "really good tutorial", you make it look so easy, I'm going to use some beautiful old white linen napkins that have been in the linen cupboard for years. Every year, I take them out, wash, starch and iron them and then back in they go....they're coming out getting made into bunting and going on display...thanks for the tips (love your work stations)!
