How to Make Your Own Dice | Fireball Dice Set

In this video I go over the process of making a full play set of eight 6-sided fireball dice for your spell-casting needs!
I came across this awesome Wizard Dice set when I was at my Local Game Store, and thought - "Well dang, I wish they had a full fireball set of these!" They didn't, so I thought I'd just go ahead and make a set for myself!
The red from the fire makes an awesome looking fireball on it's own, but I think the gold inside of the dice really makes it spark and pop almost like real fire! I am super pleased with how these turned out and I can't wait to use them in a real game. Now I just need to find a game that will let me spam fireball... I feel like my players are suddenly going to find themselves fighting wizards in the near future...

Wow. You could probably put one of those mini chain connecters to the fireball dice, then put them on a Necklace. Now you have an actual *Necklace of Fireball* for cosplay and you can really remove the beads to role!

I built a house rule a few years back for Fireball and fire-based spells... When a caster reaches the maximum amounts the flames turn from red and orange to white and blue. Let me tell you, the amount of pride you see in players when they can describe their flames as literally white-hot is amazing :D It also makes me think these fireball dice would look amazing in a pearly translucent white with bright cobalt blue flakes inside.

To avoid wasting so much resin, would it be possible to fill a new mold with water or something, then dump it out to measure the volume?

doing a volumetric test by droping the casted die in water would give the same result, either way youd come up a little short and would need to add a bit extra (learned the hard way, as i panicked to mix more and replicate color)

I watched a few of this fellows videos and he does a great job. I think making fireball dice is a great idea. I am looking for a set of dice for healing. I know there are "healing potions" that folks sell, and this fellows even makes some in one of his videos, but I'm looking for dice for healing just like he has made fireballs. My thought is to get them as 4 sided versions of these fireballs, red, so they look like potion bottles, numbers painted on the four sides and a small piece of cork glued on where the peak of the bottle would happen. I bet something like this would sell very well.

I switched to clear last month and it been soo much better to see my design. been using soclear 37 and its denser and has a working 25min working time but the mold sets in 2 hours and ready in 4 hours. Can wait to see your custom dice you make.

The gold really pops! Rybonator, question for you; because of the fear of scratching your dice with the knife and ruining the potential for making a future mold due to a scratched die, wouldn't it be a good idea to try to dull or round out the tip of the knife? The blade would still be sharp, but the very tip of it would not as easily scratch the dice.

you can buy exacto blades of varying shapes which may help a little bit, but ive used a more dull blade a few times (just didn't feel like swapping blade out) and it felt like i was going to mess up the mold itself. Plus you can always take the extra time to mark which side of the mold you wanna cut next and try and hit the same line. though all of this is far less necessary/ noticeable on geometric dice compared to organically shaped ones if cut in the right places

For making the mold taller, I would have just run the tape on the inside of the cup instead and have the sticky bit facing out. Smoother on the inside and much less chance of leakage. Love the dice though!

I think one reason the gold wasn’t popping on camera is it wasn’t facing directly into the light. Which is a reason I believe y is isn’t given justice in the video. However I love how these turned out. Also I have to check out this brand, they make some unique dice!

you mentioned using experimentation to find the right ammount of resin needed for your new mold. I've used water displacement mesuring (sticking original item molded into water and the change in volume is the volume of said item) + a tad bit extra just to make sure. That way im not wasting too much extra (that is after the one time i wasted like 45Ml on one dice set lol)

I love these Polyhero sets! They've released Warrior, Wizard, and Rogue sets so far and their next Kickstarter will either be for Cleric or Bard (depending on Kickstarter Backer votes.) Btw, the d4 is supposed to a bolt like for the magic missile or fire bolt spells.
