Lovely pieces well done. If you do a water soluble sandwich, without backing fabric, your pieces might be more lacey ... just a thought 🙄

These are very beautiful, but what do you do with them? I’d like to see some completed projects made from these new pieces of fabric

Thanks so much! I never thought of using these on jeans, what a fantastic idea! I have some that would be perfect for adding a few little patches of this!

this is going to test me on so many levels but most importantly, what do you do with it when finished/ AND WHAT IS LIFESPAN OF THAT WATER SOLUBLE COVER? AND HOW ARE THINGS GOING TO BE USED AND HANDLED OFTEN? I STRUGGLE WITH THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF USEFUL MAKING.WHY MAKE SOMETHING IF IT DOES NOT GET USED. WASTE.

Hi there, and thanks for your comment. The water soluble interfacing gets totally washed off, as it's only used to hold everything in place while you stitch it down. The final result is incredibly sturdy if you do fairly dense machine stitching on it, and can be used for many things, depending on the size. I've seen them used as decorative patches on jeans and jackets, to make art cards or Christmas decorations, simply framed as artwork and also cut up to use in slow stitched fabric collage projects. Larger pieces would be great for making a clutch purse or zippered pouch, as they really are so sturdy. As these pieces are made from scraps from other projects, I see them as the opposite of waste - I'm making something beautiful out of bits and pieces that would otherwise be thrown away. The creative process is also an absolute joy for me, so even if something doesn't have a practical use, I still get the pleasure of making it.
