So sorry your Sewing Bee moment didn’t happen, but it’s still brilliant that the producers had noticed your work: maybe they’ll come back to you for next year’s show (big Sewing Bee fan here, it made me realise that anyone can have a go at sewing). I’ve never been a fan of the confetti technique, but this collage style with organza is much more my thing. Love that cushion cover!

Lovely to meet you. I enjoyed this video so much I subscribed to all. I like your calm way of talking. I have been a sewer and quilter for 4-5 decades and I have gone to a workshop where I learnt how to colour with fabric 'crumbs', using a very similar technique without the organza. I always RR&R and currently I'm doing that with paper, paint & ink to make journals. So I am going to pick your brain and experience for technique and inspiration to use up my fabrics by watching your videos. Thankyou so much for sharing, I'm impressed and inspired.

I think tote bags would be popular for storing items and shopping with…… I’m making some to store yarns and quilting squares for my swing room. Last year I made scrappy gift bags using up many pieces. Good luck on your pattern class……I bet if you made tops for children they’d be a great Christmas or birthday gifts.

So happy to see a new video. Loved the “malarkey” statement. It’s disappointing you didn’t get on, but sometimes we aren’t quite ready for full out fame and your time will come. I’m an old school seamstress, usually used patterns but I’m in the process of throwing caution to the wind and about to make a tea towel dress or tunic of my own. You have truly inspired this old dog to learn new tricks. Excited and nervous at the same time. Thanks for the lesson. I’m also an embroiderer. I think embroidering features on the bird or whatever the main element is would be lovely. I have too many WIPs in the works to do it now, but it’s in my project ideas for the future for sure. 👍🏻

First time watcher here. I love this technique. Have seen something with a similar idea but it was pieced and sewn before using the organza. Using scraps as the “filler” is bonus. I do like that guide but I’m not sure I can give up my good ol’ painter’s tape. One strip down, sew one line, move tape & butt it up against sew line, place the tape down and sew again etc. I like that for grids and straight quilting. Since I use painters tape in my painting and other crafts I always have it handy in 3 sizes. And the sticky is just enough to hold it but not enough to leave residue. Does not work well on extra fluffy quilts tho. Mind you I just looked up this gadget and it’s quite inexpensive so maybe I’ll have to try it. Good video & oh how I envy your organization lol!
