This and the previous paperphone video have inspired me to do more paper crafting. I was lucky enough to be able to do some workshops locally on bookbinding, and yesterday did a coptic stitch notebook for the first time. I want to combine that with some of the ideas you've inspired. My first step is to replace the folders in my A5 notebook cover with ones I make; a simple start, but a start nonetheless. Thank you for the inspiration techniques. Also, I'm unsurprised to learn you are a fellow vim user. Thank you!

This is awesome!! I definitely want to make my own. The first thing I think I would add is maybe like the smallest pocket watch I can find because I don't wear watches, and wouldn't survive without the clock on my lock screen. Amazing video!! Thank you so much for the ideas!

The whole time on terminal reminded me of all these hours spent learning how to program documents on LaTeX because i was bored at my high school only to end up doing a phd in literature published with LaTeX 😂😂😂 definitely a rabbit hole ❤ Thanks for the update ! I love the reading list ! Any book we have from an author who passed away more than 70 years ago is in the public domain, so there's indeed a lot of awesome things available out there for free !

I make my own inserts to put in a leather cover that I bought, but my boox Palma ereader fits in it almost perfect, so I can put my ereader right in my notebook.

Love it. Last year I made a leather cover for a notebook and cards, which has been in my pocket ever since. It's a bit too bulky with a full 80-page Sakura Sketch/notebook in it, though. After watching your previous PaperPhone video I realized that I could just rip off the pages from the notebook and attach a smaller amount of pages to its cover with rubberbands, and use that. It already has a paper pocket, but now I'll definitely add a lid to keep it closed-thanks for the idea! It also has a pen loop, bookmark and a rubber band to keep the cover closed. This modified Sakura notebook cover has pretty much all I want for now, but it's more fun and interesting to make the whole thing yourself, so at some point I'm probably going to make a new cover from scratch with some modifications. I like those small slots for paper clips... I might do something like that.

Entire video was amazing! Enjoyed hearing the process and hopefully will make something of my own! I’m also interested in that knife at the end and the wood work as well, would like to learn more about that if possible! Keep up the wonderful work 😊

You are awesome! Your videos are very inspiring and make me want to make! I'm especially interested in the wood tattooing that you briefly mentioned. I also think it's very cool that you use tech to help you make non-tech things. I do this too 🙂

First of all, Amazing video, I want to thank you for spending the time and energy to create such an interesting piece of informational content! I really love your idea for the Paper Phone and look forward to making my own soon! I am very happy to have found your channel and found your paper highlighters very interesting! Just wanted to say that i love your ideas and style, and i found it a bit funny that you are trying to minimize or phase out modern phone use, I myself am switching over to a flip phone haha. I hope that you never grow tired of making such incredible things! I wish you good health and a wonderful day! Looking forward to more videos!

All of a sudden the PaperPhone's modularity makes a lot of sense. At first I was wondering which Window Manager it was, but then I realized it was a Mac. Still on the fence of whether it is VIM or NeoVIM.
@eastofawesomeАй бұрын
😁 Yeah, had to switch back to a Macbook recently for reasons. But the main machine is debian with i3. Definitely was surprised how close I could bring the mac to that feeling. The editor is Neovim.

Excellent video. It would be good to see your template with the two margin lines - I file my pages on the sides like that, too (I picked up this trick from 'the ledger' in the video game Disco Elysium). :) The sticker stamps are super cool. Are you going to add the ravens tribe to your site? I love cats, but I think I'd probably belong to the book tribe. But it's a tough choice between the two. :) Anyway, thanks for all the links in the comments section. Going to go and get the zine now ...
@eastofawesomeАй бұрын
Haven‘t played disco elysium but I looked up pictures from the ledger and it looms really cool. Is it described in more detail in the game? I‘ll try to get to put my templates on my site. just need to adopt it back to the „real“ paperphone size first 😁✌️
@hakonrunnerАй бұрын
@@eastofawesome The design in the pictures looks really cool. In the game, it's described in detail (the game is a heavily text-based rpg, so it's basically an illustrated book), but it differs from the pictures. It's a blue plastic sliding storage clipboard with case files and forms - it doesn't have that cool hybrid ring system attached to the front on the outside with the tabs etc. But the alphanumeric and titular system for filing is pretty cool - reminds me of your new template. :)
