What a terrific idea! I love the pocket for storing the smaller pieces! Great tips, as always!

Hello, Laura! This is a good idea. I love to watch your videos and I have learned a lot from you. I would like to see you actually do a tutorial with you sewing a pair of pants like these from start to finish. With all your tricks you were just showing us. I'm a seasoned beginner and that would help me so much. Please consider making a few of those kind of videos that are actual sewing tutorials. I know most of your viewers are probably great sewing experts but I'm probably not the only beginner in the bunch. Have a great day!

Pants are tricky to fit sometimes so this is a great way to know where you need to alter another pattern instead of starting over with each new pattern. Thank you for this wonderful idea!

I really love all you have done, For 12 years I have not been able to get back into my favorite sewing projects, My parents and sister died of different months of three kinds of cancer, It hurt so much, I have been trying to get back into sewing it is hard so what I am going to do is, bulldoze the house down and build another one, I hope this will help me, the house was left to me, and you can say it haunts me with the suffering they went through, thank you for having your style of work . God bless you always Edwinice Meyer

Clever idea. I trace all my patterns so I don't have to cut up the original, but this takes it a step further and would really streamline the fitting process. Thanks.

This was an amazing video. I'm extremely hard to fit. There's almost a 24" difference between my waist and my hips, so I always have trouble fitting any pattern. But if I can create a template that works for me then I won't have to struggle every time I want a new design, that is also a flattering fit for my shape. Thank you very much. I'd love to see how you would do this for necklines.
@dijones24417 жыл бұрын
I agree with Estelle... I find neck lines plunge to low for me and I've tried to adapt the pattern but it never seems to sit nicely

Would you consider demonstrating how to make pants with the fly opening? I wanted to make boxer shorts and the vogue pattern I was using was confusing, having not done it before. It was a failed effort. I've not been able to find a good tutorial online. Thanks for sharing your sewing and quilting know how! You are organized and a good teacher.

Hi Laura. Wow - you are so knowledgeable about all-things-sewing. Would you also use this Pellon product if you buy a pattern and want to preserve the various sizes (i.e. a child's pattern that comes in 3 sizes). I will be making the smallest size, but want to keep the pattern for future use in larger size.

What I don't understand is why one would bother with another pattern if it's just going to be adjusted to the one that fits best?
@dianadivadiamond7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that.idea. Can I use the thinnest Pelon because I'm not sure if I'll be able to source what you showed us in your video. Thanks again.
@paulasydney7 жыл бұрын
I'm confused. Won't your new pattern just turn out like your template if you're adjusting your new pattern to match your template? Why would you buy a new pattern just to copy your template onto your new pattern?
@SewVeryEasy7 жыл бұрын
No, you will just need to use it for a guide, for eg if the waist is very high fit you still have your waist mark, if you have a pttern that has a seam down the leg you can still adjust the crotch etc:) hope that helps
@paulasydney7 жыл бұрын
I still don't get it, maybe i need to watch the video again. Thanks for trying to help :)
@kerigiddens45577 жыл бұрын
As a lady with a short waist and no hips, I am going to give this template thing a try. If you are easy to fit with commercial patterns, you may find no value in it but I have to alter every pattern I sew myself. It would be handy to have a template letting me know that on my pattern I need to shorten the waist by 3 inches, lower the pocket opening and shorten the length, etc. This still allows the pattern to have "design elements" like pleating or darts or a seam running down the front of the leg or different pocket treatments but still knowing the basic size and shape of the pattern is something that will fit. In the case that you just need a quick pair of pants then, yes, you could use the template as the pattern. Thank you Laura!
