I too use the hot steam from the shower to style my natural hair, lol. I thought I was the only one!

I could never master a twist out, or a wash n go…but I’ve mastered mini twists and a mini twist out (which kinda looks like a wash n go)…def a cheat code, it’s like 4-6 weeks of low styling for me, i hope more curly/kinky girls try it out.

Yes! I like to do mini twist cause it’s two styles in one, i also haven’t mastered a wash n go but the twist out mimics it and is more defined! i love it!!!

I don't think twist outs work for every hair texture, especially low porosity hair. Twisting and untwisting my hair is soothing and the results do last. But I keep my hands in my hair too much and that's a habit I need to break. It just feels good though.

I have low porosity hair, I just embrace the frizz, and keep oil on my hands anytime i touch my hair to prevent pulling or breakage!

How do you make your twist outs last? 👀

I'm going to try your method - I bought the mielle products and will be sure to twist without borrowing between the strands so I can smoothly unravel; I'll also make them small so they can look like super defined curls when they're out too! I won't even bother with the fluffing part until the very last day when I wear it out as a full afro :)

When it's super defined (right when you first untwist, before you fluff it out) does spraying it with water make it frizzy?

for me spraying it with water right afterwards will revert it back to my natural curl pattern so i take time and just hand fluff it, it also will cause a lil shrinkage.
