more great comments, thanks! seems like everyone has different thoughts on stem shape and sizes, fortunately its usually an easy swap with lots of available choices. Not as affordable but the same for seat choice, then there's pedals, bars, tires, gearing, fit adjustments, maintenance routines etc,... bikes are fun!!

@@DD-xx8wh I like the stock seat surprisingly well. It would be cool to have the dropper connected to a switch behind the brake lever on the left hand side. Similar to the up shift mechanism on the right hand side. I will likely try a shorter stem out just to see how it feels. 10mm less length would probably serve me well.

You should be preloading the cap before you tighten the stem to the post. Yamaha lists 2.5 Nm in the manual. This ensures the bearings in your headset operate properly. The stem bolts should then all be 6 Nm.

@@bradleywalker4075 thanks for the info. TBH I don’t have a torque wrench. I’ve been using my internal torque wrench my whole life. 😅 It’s not always right either. 😆

Nice, just got my Wabash and after riding was looking to see if there was a way to gain an inch in rise. Much appreciated!

@@skynels3744 made a big difference for me. So much so that I might not swap for a shorter stem quite yet. I’ll give it some more seat time before I decide on upgrades.

I had to get a shorter stem on mine and worked out great. The stem also has a 7 degree rise that I put on. I am thinking of going tubeless. Have you thought about that? Also I have not taken the tire off of the rim and was wondering if you know if the the rim is tubeless ready or will I have to get some rim tape. Thanks again for the videos.

@@howardridesebikes I do think a shorter stem is in my near future. I haven’t checked to see if the rims are already tubeless compatible. If I have a flat I’ll be sure to report, as I’ll have to decide whether I go tubeless at that point myself.

Thx for the tips and review. How wide a tire do you think would fit? 2.6"?
@InfiniteMishaps3 ай бұрын
@@SethBrandes I think a 2” would be okay. Bigger than that and I think the back would rub. I could be wrong though. If you try it let me know.

Does anyone know if this would affect the warranty? I hope that Fly Rides can do this when they build my Wabash. I will link them to this vid. Thanks!

@@acumark I would think that it would not. As stems are manufactured with this fitment in mind. It’s a common adjustment on stock road bikes.
