I noticed your dropper cable is way too long. It was on my wife's small Wabash. It's pretty easy to shorten it at the post, as there's a set screw.

Cable/hose routing on this thing is a rat's nest/nightmare! Take the thing to a decent bicycle shop and get it fixed! I don't understand all the "range anxiety" with bicycles...if you want an e-moped, buy one! Meanwhile, Yamaha's bailing out of the US e-bike market - hope they at least provide parts/service/warranty for these things for awhile!

@@larryt.atcycleitalia5786 I have faith they will support us for 5 years. That said after 5 years we will be entirely on our own here in the US. That’s okay though, if I do it right I’ll certainly have gotten my money’s worth 5 years in.

I just did the same test and got 46.3 miles but my average mph (14.5) was way lower than yours. At flashing 1 bar, I got another 4.5 miles and at 0, I got 2.5. When it finally died, it was instant just like in your video and I could notice the reduce power before that. I was pleasantly surprised with the range calculator as I got 16.5 when it said I had 14 left. My test matches that other test from electric bike report or whatever they're called. They averaged 1 more mph and got 43.8. I think what your getting is normal for your average speed. That wind resistance starts growing exponentially which each extra mph. If you double the speed, you quadruple the wind resistance or something like that. There are range calculators online but I see way different results on this bike than the calculator. This bike does way more than the calculators say it will.

I think the issue is on my other ebikes I am used to power cutting out at 20mph. So I end up doing most of the work at higher speeds. Whereas with this ebike when I put in that same effort it thinks I want to go faster. Not a bad thing, I just need to get used to pacing myself if I want the longer range.

These videos have been GREAT and have helped in my decision making as I look into buying this bike. Thank you so much!!
@InfiniteMishapsАй бұрын
@@sarlineh I would say it’s a great bike so far. I think the stated range is there, but at lower speeds/torque output. I think I override the bike so it gives mo powa💥. I rode the bike today with a slower pace and power input from me. Range seems better. But I don’t get quite as good of a workout.

I don't know what your expectations were but the range in every mode seems amazing given your speeds compared to any other ebike I've experienced or considered. Right now I'm trying to decide between the Wabash or the CrossCore thanks for posting your real time comments and video... very detailed and helpful, just like being there! Seems like a great bike I hope the Wabash works out for you
@InfiniteMishapsАй бұрын
@@DD-xx8wh agreed even if the guessometer is off on its estimate. It still does very well considering the performance it provides. If you are commuting I’d go crosscore just for the more comfortable riding position. I should have a crosscore showing up soon, just waiting for it to arrive at the dealer post purchase.

I bought this to keep my heart rate lower between 120 and 140, but I tend to pedal more since the engagement is lost the moment pedaling stops. my 16mi + 16mi commute left me with 2 bars, wish the capacity was a bit higher so I could confidently use higher speeds. Does Yamaha publish the range? I was looking for it but couldn't find it on their site.
@InfiniteMishaps26 күн бұрын
I suspect those are the correct numbers if you are riding in high or auto. Maybe even Standard if you ride hard. I found that if I gave it the beans it resulted in faster speed and way more battery usage. Would be interesting to see what PAS you were in, what your avg speed was, and what elevation you climbed on your commute. I found it harder to keep an elevated heart rate on the Wabash than I did on the Crosscore. Wabash just wants to go fast and burn through the range. I suspect if I slowed my efforts its range would increase.

You have to factor in your body weight if a guy doing the test is 150 lb and you are 200 lb it's going to be a massive difference in range especially if you're going up hills
@InfiniteMishaps20 күн бұрын
@@TroyCollier Thanks for pointing this out. In my experience the range would significantly change between say me and my kids, but not so much between me and my wife who is much lighter than me (by 50lbs or so). I weigh 215 on a good day, 220 if I’ve visited a taco stand recently 😅.

Is there any motor drag when the assist level is zero or when the battery is dead? Whats your perception of riding it while the battery is dead?
@InfiniteMishaps28 күн бұрын
I don't feel motor drag, but I do feel the extra weight of the bike.

It seems like the ebike makes clicking noises while you pedal

Yes, I have not had time to look around and see if I could get rid of it. Seems to only happen when I stand up on the front of the bike.

@@0dark35 considering you could buy e commuter, e gravel, and e mountain bike all for about the same cost as a typical e mtb. I’d say it’s a good deal. If you need all three.
