I recently went through this, I was at 8 months with no retie because life happens and this is the first time this has happened to me. I had 30 point rotations . After shampooing my hair I would section my hair and take my time separating my locs. I lost one loc. I had so much new growth and I am at 2 in a half years. I will say I will never wait that long again. It does hurt. It took 12 hours to finish my retie. Long Sighhhh

Thank you for posting this. Life has been crazy and as a result of some serious life being thrown my way, my mental health suffered. With all my efforts to maintain my home, kids, and lastly (i know terrible) myself! Ive been keeping up with washes but have been SO ashamed and almost shaved my head last week. Today, i feel seen. And my self care will be my retie and keeping consistent. Im about 9 months 😅

Don't feel ashamed at all. We all go thru things, and sometimes it takes a minute to get it together. Life happens to us all... just at different times and seasons. Just do one thing for yourself everyday and one day, you'll look back and see progress not failure.

Thank you so much for always providing much needed knowledge. I am in Central Florida and trust that I am trying to plan out a trip to have an experience with you and your team. I have very thick hair and it is somewhat hurtful when I visit some salons here and they roll their eyes when they realize how thick my hair is. This is why I have not found a loctician as of yet. To see you loving on any hair type warms my soul.

This was awesome to watch. Life sure does happen to us all. I'm glad she didn't lose any locs. I'm so scared to go longer than 8 weeks because of my hair texture and tender head. I can't maintain my own because of the range of motion issues I have in one of my shoulders after radiation therapy for breast cancer. I told my loctition that she cannot leave me because I can't do my own hair, lol. It's so hard to find a good loctitian. I do maintain both of my daughters' and husband's microlocs, and they all have high density, coarse, long hair. When they go longer than 6 weeks, I usually tell them I'm giving up, lol or I send one of them to my loctitian when schedule permits.

This happened to me. I actually just got a retie yesterday. I went through some really severe depression after being diagnosed with epilepsy. I attempted to do it myself but with all the new growth it was impossible for me to section and part my grid properly except in the very front. I went exact 8 months. I have a fairly loose hair texture about 4a-3c, very high density and around 579 locs but my hair didn’t really mat. It took 8 hrs to complete and I had about 6-7 inches of new growth. I lost 2 locs not the entire thing but around 4 inches of both. I will NEVER go that long again. My hair hadn’t been manipulated in so long it hurt so much omg. My head felt so tight. My hair was so much longer when we finished my boyfriend was astonished.

@ms.virgo82187 Жыл бұрын
@BecomingShalom Oh...lol its all good. 😊 I couldn't either that is way too many locs for me. I wish I had maybe 400 that would be the max since the time for reties would be too long. I'm used to 2-2.5 hrs with a wash for my reties. I can't remember what she paid, but I know it had to be at least $300... I'm thinking. I'm not sure if Pauline said it in the video it has been quite awhile since I saw it.

I just went through that. Over 6 months i was so scared i would lose alot of locs. I only lost 1 loc. Money 💰 just wasnt there and my daughter(schedule was crazy)who had been doing my reties was too overwhelmed . My daughter paid to get my hair back right. My daughter is the best.
