He saved me 3 years ago. I will never forget and i am forever grateful. His wisdom and explanations and style are unmatched by any other person being I have watched. There are others who try and show and tell others they are enlightened. Master riponche has never once stated this and yet his teachings have helped me more then i could ever explain. Life saving. No need to say more.

So grateful for you. I wondered how can I love everyone at my work, when some of people working with me is being unkind to me sometimes, or try being bossy toward me and push me around. Their behavior make me angry sometimes. But I am discovering more often lately, that I can be not moved within by their behavior, ego can be taken lightly and I don't have to take it so personally how they behave toward me, or how they act. Its their problem how they behave. I am more tolerant for them, since I have more Access and trust for the heart of awareness. All those social problems can go on and on...but with empiness, why to bother. Love you Yongey Minguir Rinpoche. Sometimes I wonder how can you be so good. 🙏

@@mrretired2715 Today in the morning I went into experience of anger. Toward people who ever treated me bad, as if they were better than me, who believed they were entitled to me. I asked myself what is wisdom behind that anger? What am I afraid of so much? And ansver arived in the teaching of also much loved teacher Gangaji, who once said - In truth you are nothing, but unconsciously you cling to the image of yourself and you wanna be something, even if this something is not enough and you try all the time to mprove this image and you suffer people projections and people giving you values...you still would prefer be this something and work on yourself to improve your better image, better knowladge, to be seen as better, rather than being true and not a thing. What can you gain or loose from being nothing ? - I love her very much too.

I found that disrespect comes from a place of hurt and fear. What our society thinks of as respect, really, is more like having entitlement to disrespect others. Such people do not respect themselves. In truth, respect is having the courage to have compassion and kindness. We can understand disrespectful people as hurt and confused, but instead of pitying them, we treat them with kindness. We must also lay boundaries, telling others what is and what isn’t okay. If someone cannot even respect your polite requests or boundaries, we can either break away from that person, or endure. There are instances where we can break away. But there are also instances that we must endure. You must trust your wisdom and know which to choose. Compassion and insight into others’ pain and confusion can help. I really commend you for your kindness. Remember that we are practicing, so perfection cannot be expected reasonably, but we should always strive to keep practicing anyway.

@@kevinle4380Thank you Kevin for your comment. I believe practice will resolve this. As I don't take personally anymore people who act out of panic under the pressure of time. Also I don't take personally people who are often angry with obsessive need for control, or blaming me for anything that goes not their way. To be honest I don't need boundaries with them, as I see their anger, or frustrations has nothing to do with me, this is really their trouble. Lately the challenge is person, who treat me as if I was her servant and she gives me demands even though she is at the same position at work and she is much younger and less experienced. But I must say I didn't set boundaries with her. I spoke with her later, when she complained about someone else,I only told her that her behavior is a questionable as well, so she apologised but not from heart, only to have me off her cease. I wonder if this is my ego believe that gets hurt about not being considered as experienced or professional, only this young girl is thinking she is the smartest and try to manage me what maybe offends me as I am addentified with my experiences and knowledge and my ego needs to be recognised as experienced and knowladgeable. On the other hand even If I would't suffer I can't listen to her what to do, she is not my boss, that would be stupid. And sometimes I do listen to her and I wonder why am I not having Access to wisdom and why am I letting people to use me sometimes. I am hurting myself with this lack of skill of dealing with such a people.

How to manage conflict. Normally, of course, when different people come together, everybody has different opinions and ideas. And normally we think “ My idea is quite good. I know much better”. For example, there are some studies about taxi drivers, and thay asked them about their driving skill. And they said, I think above 70% of taxi drivers said that their driving skill is above average. That is impossible, right? Maybe for you, if you are traveling with your friend and your friend is driving, and the road is not so good, and is bumpy, and you almost get into an accident, What will you think ? Normally we think “If I drive, it will be safer”. This is self-image, something like that. Sometimes it could be high self-esteem or low self-esteem. They are two sides of the same coin. For me, what I do is, the first impotant thing is to listen. Really important. Normally, I discuss about basic innate goodness. Everybody has unique talents, unique qualities, unique ways of solving problems, and unique ways of getting things done. Everybody has great qualities. Especially when I am in a group, I listen first. What I see is that there are a lot of good things when we communicate human to human. A lot of great things come out of that. Then, sometimes what happens is that I have some idea. I think my idea is quite good. But then when I listen, there is another great idea ! Now the problem is that both are very good, so which one should we chosse? Normally, we think “Mine is better”. And sometimes people show off: “How smart am I?” Their self-esteem comes, high self-esteem comes. Once we present our idea, then most of the time we want to hold on to it. On the subconscious level, we do not want to lose face. “Both ideas are wonderful, so why not use mine?” In that moment, I let go of mine. I embrace the other’s good idea, and then we work together. And the other person feels very happy: “The idea was mine, and everybody and I agree, and the other person puts a lot of energy into it. And of course I put in a lot of energy. And all the people, together, put a lot of energy into it. Therefore, for me, listening is important, one of the key points. Sometimes, I have some idea, and I know the answer at the beginning, but if I say it first, it will not be so valuable. I listen first. After everyone finishes giving suggestions, then I say my idea. Actually I am saying the same thing, but after listening, it becomes very valuable. Therefore, I think it is really important that we listen first. And not just “uh-huh, uh-huh,”but deep listening ! To really see the basic goodness within the other person. Try to connect with that person. And most of the time I can find diffirent ways to communicate with that person. That person has basic innate goodness. At a deeper level, that person wants to be happy and does not want to suffer, just like you. And there are so many ways to connect ! Once you become friends with that person, then everything is okay. There are no conflicts. It is really important to connect, to listen, and to become friends, and all of this is based on seeing the innate qualities, on seeing the connection with love and compassion. Thank you.

This is great advice when all people at work are seen as equals, but what about advice for when your idea is never taken seriously? Often women and POC voices are completely overlooked, and unless their voices get very loud and "high self esteem," no one pays attention. If everyone looks up to you already, it's obviously a lot easier to listen to others and then calmly contribute your idea. Or what about the real-world consequences of others taking your ideas, and then they get credit for it? And then perhaps promotions, etc. etc.? Anyway, I think it's a great topic to think about:D

Hi i also have this question. I think “how can I work for justice while remaining united and compassionate with all others” “how can I have compassion towards someone who is hurting me?” So, I think the best would be to leave, not put my energy into projects that hurt others not participate in injustice, avoid giving my energy to mean conversations, walk away from people who want to do bad things. Most of the time, people don’t want to hurt others and don’t want to be the bad guy, sometimes we can explain our perspective to them, if they care enough to listen. Most of the time those people are actually ignorant, immature, or have low self esteem, they don’t know how to be better, so its really hard to do it its easy to understand and say it, but have compassion for those people because they are doing things that are causing harm to others, which means they are causing harm to themselves.

Also, put my energy into learning about how to help others find their power, feel empowered, helping young people learn and grow and express themselves, its more fruitful to focus on those who are seeking to learn, the young adolescents who hold the future then to focus on people who are already stuck in their ways.

I've come to the insight that sometimes in order for a person to meet their ego, conflict must rise. Either in you, or the other person. Because ego is at times easily triggered, but at the same time can be incredibly sneaky and steer away from things that are triggering. When in truth the ego could need to be triggered so the consciousness can grow. The universe will use whatever it can to trigger egos and coax awareness to emerge, so people can grow. What triggers you?

Is Rinpoche indvertently citing the dunning kruger effect here? I know it's not the main gist. People want to get up to same speed, right? I think this a bit like traffic snakes, so bunching leads to a block in the road. Maybe that's why space exists, so that people have time to think about stuff rather than bumping into one another (a bit like that 2004 film called 'Crash'). Give me a rare person nowadays, go further afield, a study of distant relations.
