#AskMark Hi Mark.. I am going through rec diving courses now but my ultimate goal is to go into technical diving (mainly for deep wrecks) and for that, I think I'd need to get into backmounted doubles (for Hypoxic trimix) and so I wanna get a head start by getting into doubles sooner. Currently I have the Mares XR Rec Trim and it has been serving me well, I was wondering if I can get a doubles wing and use the same Harness/Bp or would it be too light and buckled under the weight of doubles. I tried looking online and asking around but nobody seems to have a definitive answer. If not then I guess I will need to shop around for a whole new setup just for doubles. Thanks

You can, I use the same backplate and harness for singles and swap the wing for twins. Plenty of divers use aluminium backplates with twins if they need a lighter BCD. It is a little softer than steel so I'd keep an eye on where the bolts attach. But I wouldn't worry too much about it.
