I keep bringing myself to the threshold where I'm about ready to take that step towards waking up and trying to get through the first day without smoking and perhaps without coffee. Then I manage to argue with myself and come up with 38,000 reasons why I'm not ready, why it's not a good idea, why it's not safe? Even when I know I want to stop, I don't like the habits and patterns I create more stress and unhappiness, pushing myself to be separated continuously. I know that not smoking will open up so much more time for exercise and study recreation but I choose not to allow myself to have that time. I could try to point fingers but it doesn't have anything to do with others so much, often enough I smoke to gain a few minutes to myself. I think sometimes if I don't smoke I'd be smothered. If you have suggestions I'd really like to hear.

Thank you Nasia for the video .Emotions'' are a very interesting subject and I think society tends to discourage emotion as ''scary and ineffective in life'' and smoking is just one form of escape or distraction people use. It is a shame because emotions are our friend and is a strength when we harness them...

Besides all these great tips, this is one of the reasons I fashioned a straw, (just the first very hard days) filled with a paper towel, to emulate the slow breath I would take, and to trick my mind. The practice was seldom, and I had nothing addictive going in me, allowing the nicotine to decrease. It really helped me so much...
@now5912 жыл бұрын
yes ha ha ha. A cigarette only lasts a few short minutes anyway. I have noticed that sucking air through fingers (pretend smoke) for a few mins can provide relief.

i've had no nicotine for 6 weeks and i'd say it's 99% mental!
@tommyhatcher3399 Жыл бұрын
@@amberdreama2711 For me it's 100% mental. I like nicotine cravings. Just a burst of energy. Only been a week off them for me. I don't get cravings anymore, just lots of mental symptoms. I actually miss being at work and only getting a smoke every 4 hours or so, because after 2 hours into a shift I'd get a bunch of cravings and it just motivates me and wakes me up. I can go a day without a smoke no problem. Done it tons of times when I use to smoke. But after that 24 hours life becomes bit of a nightmare. Never did go long enough to see the mental withdrawal subside. Hoping I make it this quit and find out how long it takes to feel normal again!

I would love to hear more on emotions and quitting. This is a big problem area for me in quitting. Also how do you feel about herbal cigarettes as a method for quitting.
@CBQMethod4 жыл бұрын
Hi Shannette, thank you for commenting! I will do more videos on this topic :) A method to quit smoking has to take you through the emotional, behavioral, and mental changes you need to go through so you can live life without smoking. For that reason, I don’t see herbal cigarettes as a method to quit smoking because herbal cigarettes can’t help you change how you think about & see smoking. Perhaps it’s a tool to keep your hands busy, but if that’s what you’re looking for it’s best to try something that doesn’t require inhaling things (even if they’re herbs) I explain more about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKPKe4uAYtGXi8k hope it helps :)

I was wondering if an herbal cig would help me quit.
@amberdreama27113 жыл бұрын
Maybe try meditating in the morning - a successful meditation will increase your brain's emotional radar - you'll see the anger coming so you can acknowledge what it is rather than just get consumed by it. It basically makes your brain wise up and chill out so it's not tricked into wasting time being angry.

@CBQMethod3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jo Jo, thank you for your comment. If you smoke to help you cope with intense emotions, we recommend tuning in to a different, helpful emotion as soon as you notice you’re feeling those intense emotions (sad, angry, stressed, depressed, etc.) An emotion you can tune into is gratitude. We can't feel negative emotions (anger, frustration, stress, depression) and grateful at the same time. 🙂 In this video below, Nasia will show you how to practice gratitude: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3uzepuGppmeoq8

How do you stop smoking in the middle of the grief of the loss of a loved one? My grief is fresh and this has been what feels like an insurmountable obstacle in my quit smoking plan.

Hi there,I have just thought that throughout my smoking life of 30+years,I smoke everytime I have any emotion,from happy to sad,to lonely and bored!why would this be?
@JamesTveter3 ай бұрын
My problem is mindless smoking, like mindless eating. Looking at cellphone, watching TV, driving. I will smoke more in 3 hours of watching TV than in the previous 12 hours. I don't know what to replace it with. Chips will kill me just as quick. My dizziness and heart palpitations tell me I better do something pretty soon. 3to4 packs of menthols for 46 years are going to catch up with me pretty soon. I don't want to die but sometimes I think that's the only way that only way I will quit.

I am pupil but I find it really difficult to focus and concentrate after quitting. Please guide me how to cope with this.
@CBQMethod4 жыл бұрын
Hello, the initial lack of concentration after quitting smoking is because the mental cravings "thoughts about smoking" interrupt your train of thought. What you need to do is learn how to overcome and disregard those craving thoughts. Also, with time, you will notice you're better able to focus as a nonsmoker (as your brain takes in more oxygen and you don't have to interrupt yourself once every hour or so to smoke) You can learn more about withdrawal symptoms in our new video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jorIoHawisyqgKM
