The first time I ever got marble done, my nail tech used a sharpie and I fell in love with the technique. I must’ve kept that set for weeks just switching out marker colours every time I would get them filled in. Hers came out so lovely, by the way!! 🖤

@@lexi8409 They dooo as long as you use a top coat. I’m not sure if it works with a regular top coat without smudging the design too much, but a UV top coat and then curing it works great (:

Anastasia, you are so amazing! I found your channel about 3 weeks ago. You do make it looks so simple. I am not a nail tech, but I have mixed doing my own nails and going to the nail salon. Because of Covid i have tried to get my nails back in shape. You always give the best tips and your clients nails do not look damaged. Mine are always damaged when I am going to the salon exclusively. I love love the techniques you share. My husband has Alzheimer’s and is in a facility, so I am determined to save money and do my own nails. I hope this does not offend you, that I need to do my own nails because of finances. I am subscribed to many you tubers that show how to do nails. You are the best and my total FAVORITE! Thank you for sharing! I’m going to go back and watch your earlier videos. I love the baby boomers nail video. Beautiful!!!!!

Of course Anastasia wouldn’t be offended, she seems to be a kind woman, I think she likes when she inspires us to try something new. On a personal note, it can’t be easy for you with your hubby having Alzheimer’s and living away from you, I can’t imagine how you feel, much love from Ireland 🇮🇪

Love that end result! I love using Sharpies on my nails. I have probably about 30 of them now (all different colors) that are only for my nails. My family knows they better not touch them lol. At christmastime I usually see metallic Sharpies for sale - gold, silver, copper - and I'm going to try my hardest to get my hands on a pack of those this year. I think they could look really pretty!

he eponychium is the thickened layer of skin at the base of the fingernails and toenails. It can also be called the medial or proximal nail fold. The eponychium differs from the cuticle; the eponychium comprises live skin cells whilst the cuticle is dead skin cells.

Hey Anastasia! Do you think this one could be done with regular (non-gel) nail lacquer? Would the marker go on the polish or the topcoat?

@@laceym3662 Hi! So I tried to do it and it epically failed :( I tried it over no, matte, and quick dry topcoat and the sharpie just wouldn’t spread, no matter how much alcohol I used. I used 91% isopropyl alcohol and some super old sharpies. I did however, find another way to do marble. In a bowl, I mixed alcohol and water together, and dropped a bead of polish in there (like water marbling) then I took a syringe and filled it with alcohol and dropped one single drop of alcohol to break apart the polish part, thus creating veins that look sorta like the ones you see in marble. Then I dipped my finger in it, and voila, marble nails!

Hello Anastasia. I have a question and I was hoping you could help me. I started doing my own polygel nails about 2 years ago and I recently decided to stop and grow my own instead, but with a polygel overlay. My nails however, are pretty damaged and a bit filmsy because I didn't know how to remove it properly, and I'm worried that the polygel overlay will lift off or something as they grow. My question is, can I grow them out like this or should I grow out and cut the damaged part before growing them out to my desired length?
@happyjoyousfarmmiddletenne87803 жыл бұрын
I know this was for Anastasia, but I may be able to help. I wear 1" long extensions most of the time, sometimes longer for special occasions. When I have any damage to my nail bed (like accidentally skipping out of a screw head and power drilling my thumb nail, as was my last injury) I find that allowing time to heal before applying extensions or overlay gives me the safest results. I had a damaged pinkie nail some months ago, and tried to keep going with filling in and balancing, but when that bitty nail snagged in my pocket, it broke the nail at the injury, which was in my nail bed. It took longer to repair that than it would have to just grow out from the original injury, and hurt like the ding dong dickens! I like to say "Your thing, your call," but I wish I had just allowed time to grow for that poor li'l thin, injured, damaged pinkie nail! 💛

Would it work with either alcohol or acetone? Or would it be different
@Mi1aE1ise4 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure the acetone would eat away at the polish or if you had nail extensions. They are completely different chemicals, the alcohol cannot remove nail polish in itself but is able to dilute markers.
@Nailcou4 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid acetone may ruin gel polish underneath
