I was scammed by Amazon KDP for over $3000 dollars. They knew my book was turned down by Amazon to be on their book list but continued to get more money out of me for promotion and will not give a refund.

Some of the best marketing advice related to self-publishing. Everyone states the market is over saturated, no matter which market it maybe on or offline. It is over saturated when you do not know what you should be doing or what to lookout for at the beginning.

Man! I am facing the same problem. I came up with an epic cosmic fantasy idea for a year and designed a whole timeline order for my future books to convert it into a epic cosmic series. I published the first book name, "THE CURSED SOVEREIGN, by Mahamud Haque" but it's days and there's no sales.

So I started my KDP account and I have a hard time "asking" someone to buy and review my NOTEBOOK on Amazon sellers Facebook group, it just feels strange. I scratch your back you scratch mine but I don't want to scratch your back. Does that make sense. It's like walking up to someone in line and asking, "hey, hey you ya you, scratch my back then give me a review." Am I weird. New to these challenges. Don't really want to ask friends and family to buy this that doesn't feel comfortable either. It's like Girl Scout cookies. Grandpa bought them all. Ummm. Yeah.

Regarding reviews, it has been my understanding for a long time that Amazon frowns on friends and family reviews. Because I don't want to put my account at risk, I specifically ask my friends and family members (those who are in my Amazon lists from me having purchased and sent them something) to NOT leave a review. So, now I am very confused. If Amazon can track their reviews back to me, is that not putting my account at risk?

Why do all the books have to be low content. I was always intrigued by the novels, and not all are so low information. Take Stephen Kings “IT.” I believe it was some 400,000 words. Or one of his books was. All of mine have been no less than about 140k to 180K. Low information books just lack real depth. I have three already and the fourth on the way. However the first two was a series, and the third and the fourth which I am still working on is also a series. I promise the next books will be one book per story. But I don’t like the idea of my books being low info. Oddly there’s much more to my books, and a lot of realism for works of fiction. I just wanted to see how to make my books get noticed. So thank you!

The best way to avoid the problems that come with low content book creation, is to write a real book.

Asking for reviews is fine, but you can't tell someone to buy your product or offer a discount in exchange for a review. Nor can you mention 5 stars anywhere. It is against their policy and you will get banned. Also, having a super cheap price and not making any money doesn't really make sense. You are only making Amazon rich. If you price your product how you want you now have margin for ads. The ads will boost you to the top right away increasing your chances to get sales, reviews, and a higher ranking.
