@@custombodyrepairHi guys another question,i have just sprayed a House Door with Base Coat,then cleared it with 2K but did get some runs in the end only in 3 areas of the door.Can i just wet & Dry those areas with 1500 then just polish that area or will i have to sand the Hole the House Door.

No problem at all mate, thank you. On this occasion I didn’t mask between the two doors as I wanted the clear to reach the tucked edge on the rear door but usually if for whatever reason I don’t want that to happen I either use foam tape in there or a flip edge similar to the drivers side 👍

@@custombodyrepair but for example if the gap door lip need to be painted do you apply mask at the back to avoid over spraying going through? I been practicing and learning on my E39 BMW, done all the rust and dents repairs and getting close to the actual painting...that is actually all the full car ...but I don't want to touch the doors jambs as they no need to be resprayed.... and yes I'm worried about the masking part of it 🤣

@@meguinness1116 what you can do if you’d rather not get anything in there is back mask off the edge of the door and as you close the front door it will pick up the tape and stick to it so it should close out the gap and ensure minimal gets in there, that’s how I do it if I want to make sure it’s totally covered, if you are unsure of what I mean let me know and I’ll shoot a quick video for you during the week to show you how to get around it mate 👍

Me again 😊, if the door handles are same colour of the body can I leave them and spray them at the same time of the body or is best to remove them and spray them separately? Ta

You can leave them in of course but it’s best not to because you aren’t able to prep under them which in the long run could lead to those edges lifting and delaminating bud 👍

Sooner rather than later is best mate, I just usually wait until the clear coat is touch dry and then I know I can remove without causing and damage or impressions in the finish 👍 most the clears we use that within about 45 mins or so

@@meguinness1116 so we use a few and we pretty much always use fast or extra fast hardener, the clears we use are final systems ultimate, spectral 565-00, they are the main 2 but we do sometimes use others when needed for different finishes such as Matt or satin etc multi mix has also been very good for us in the past

@@custombodyrepair I through that fast hardener is better to use if only spraying a single panel, and standard hardener if spraying the whole car

@@meguinness1116 it depends a lot on environment also if it’s colder use a faster hardener as it’ll slow down flash off times anyway, we can paint a full car with fast due to experience but if you aren’t spraying every day then perhaps go for a slower hardener if doing a full repaint bud 👍
