@@futur_sunds at this point I’m trying to see what educational route I can take to basically be certified to work on post production mastering/mixing for film and television. Starting small by learning to master the music I make for fun is going to help I think in the long run. Super happy to find a logic video and it’s all stock plugins, because really you should be able to master with stock

I love the tip to mix all songs from an album, then bounce and master the whole album at one time. Tried it both ways and the difference is night and day.
@jakesklodowski93214 жыл бұрын
The Bird House how do you master every song at once, they’re all separate song/files for me.
@TheBirdHouse4 жыл бұрын
Jake Sklodowski Not at exact same time. But to wait til all songs are mixed and then master the whole album, song by song, after mixing the record. For cohesion. No way to master separate songs at the same time.

@@TheBirdHouse Thanks so much. Can you please clarify for dummy, ME? I have 19 songs that will be on my CD. I bring them all to one 19-track mastering session, and do the process explained in this video for each track separately... the purpose of having them altogether in one session is solely to hear them side by side then. You don't actually apply anything to all 19 tracks at once, correct? Thanks again!

What a great video. You get five starts from me. Extremely clear, direct, and informative without getting unnecessarily complicated. I'm a Logic beginner trying to grasp all these concepts. I've looked at a lot of KZbin videos about mixing and mastering and you really get top marks from me. I really love the way you demonstrate how to use the plug-ins. But the real test is the final result. Your track sounds excellent. Very inspiring. Thanks!

Once you have the discipline to work with original commercial reference tracks, mastering your own stuff might work out but most times it doesn't. Having someone else hear your stuff with fresh ears and with a reference directive of your choice, in my view, is the better option. ....and yes, it may cost but it will be worth it.

I rarely use a multimeter for anything, but for some reason, it did work for this particular pop track I was working on. I watched you to get some ideas on how to space my track out. Luckily, I understand how thresh, ratio, etc. because I would've been lost! You didn't really explain it too well [empathetically, I imagined being in college for the first time and hearing you explain this, would've confused me] I get your concept, but it is kind of... dry, because truthfully, there was nothing done to 'make the song sound better' you added an exciter at 5.9kHz, just to add a multimeter, which runs off into the highs at 7.9kHz, that you also boosted at 5.9kHz. Suggestion. I know this is a 'Stock Plugins' video, and you did a decent job, but look into a spectrum enhancer. This way you won't need to 'excite' one frequency, you can knock out the whole spectrum of the song and use m/s; this may save you at least 2 plug-ins.
