Do you have to use opportunities or can you use a custom object?

The Opportunities question is a little complicated. We sync GoldFinch App, which is 100% native to Salesforce, with QuickBooks. One would need GoldFInch to create the Posted Invoice, Posted Purchase invoice, and the G/L entries to QB. We can move opportunities to a related Sales Quote in GF that can be converted to a Sales Order and flow through to QB. Can you move the opportunity to GF? Yes. Can you use a custom object in GF like Sales Quote to move the opportunity? Yes. Depends on what you want to do.
