an extra flavor boost for the meatballs: dice one onion and caramelize it. Let it cool down a bit, then mix it with the raw meat. Finally, add a few teaspoons of mustard and mix as well. the mustard will bind the meat mixture and improve the texture.

for anyone making the chicken you'll still want to flip it even if your oven cooks thoroughly. The neglected underside really misses out on the flavor from the marinade and the slight wetness isn't very pleasant compared to a properly coated piece that's drier. I opted to use chili paste instead of fresh and found you'll probably want more than you think you'll need. When I tasted a bit of the marinade I noticed the spice, but it didn't translate to much after everything was cooked.

Great recipes. One thing to note for other people who make my same mistake, either use a meat thermometer for the meatballs or just bake them in the over before adding to the orzo. I added mine to the orzo to finish cooking as directed, they came out totally raw in the middle, and i had to throw the entire meal out :(. I dont know if my stove top is just really wack or what, but definitely recommend cooking the meatballs separately.

Breadcrumbs aren't necessary in meatballs but apparently they're added to soak up juices from the meat and keep some extra flavour inside. Not tested side by side but seems about right. Also good to bulk out expensive meat if you're trying to keep costs lower, same with adding lentils, grated carrot, onion, courgette, etc.

Great content Joe as always. You never fail to put a smile on my face and you are about the only KZbinr that makes cooking seem easy and actually exciting. One thing I would ask, what do you say about the Soy and your T levels? should you be consuming the Soy all the time can you replace the Soy with anything to protect your balls? Also why do you use plastic containers? I am sure they are classed as BPA free, I think glass containers (albeit more expensive with help save you T levels again.)
@erroror78636 ай бұрын

when I make the overnight oats what I do is this: at 2 p.m. I put in about 3/4 of a mug of oats (I do this so it's microwavable) I then put in just under 2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder (this is to taste so you can either add a little more in or take it away, bob's your uncle sort of a thing! haha and add in the sugar that you want at the same time. Add in the water to the top of the mug (this is why it was only 3/4 of the way) and around 8am the next morning your oats are done. The lazy man's porridge... haha

So much of my current meal prep has fallen back on making stews, chilli, curry with rice or potatoes etc. with lots of vegetables snd meat of course but even with fat and sygar restrictions, it's best for your health to eat as variously as you can, but its hard to break a habit of making the same old recipes, especially when youre planning prep around everything else you need to do. These are some really great ideas that inspire me to branch out and do more interesting stuff when ive been stuck in a rut. Broccoli is absolutely legendary though, I'm pretty sure it'd pair with chocolate if you were crazy enough. Curries, pasta dishes, with stews or in stews, even in place of rice when you're cutting. Love to see it.

For the overnight oats, I use a Zojirushi smart rice cooker that can set the time you want the food to be done cooking. I prep it at night before I go to bed. I use steel cut oats.
