i need more of this longer style format content! In a fast paced world, slowing down is maybe worth it to give it a shot

Few questions- As a person who is new to concept of meal prep - how do you eat the cold chicken/lentils or as a matter anything? Wouldn't microwaving it just destroy the texture? Won't the food spoil after couple of days??
@evansimon8913
@evansimon8913 Жыл бұрын
The food would be fine to eat after a full week PROVIDED you have your fridge cold enough. it should be between 35 and 41 Fahrenheit at all times. It may still not taste as good a week later, but it would be very edible. And don't knock cold chicken and lentils until you try it! If it's truly not your thing, most of these ingredients could be added to a soup that could be heated later.

Looks awesome! My only problem is I can't eat chicken after 3 days of it being cooked. It starts tasting funky to me; not spoiled, it's definitely edible, but it starts that getting old taste which is gross to me.
@evansimon8913

I'm inclined to agree. Smoked chicken perhaps could be better for prepping a week out, as it maintains quality at least an extra couple days (and is still edible a week out). Great comment! As a kitchen professional, The exchange of ideas is a great way to learn from different experiences.

@Evan Simon oh yeah 🤔. Smoking does seem to maintain that "fresh" taste longer. Just one more way to expand my home cook knowledge/skill; I've never smoked anything before. Thank you for the idea! I love the concept of meal prep, but I'm a snob when it comes to freshness. Thank you, and I hope the day finds you well.

Never put something warm in the fridge, it raises the temperature of the surrounding food and may also overwork the compressor.

He cooked the chicken, removed the meat, boiled the bones and leftovers with or without vegetables (typical carrots, onions, celery, and maybe garlic) to make chicken stock and then used the chicken stock in the rest of the video.
